Any predictions on teams to watch in 2019 and maybe even a Finishing Ladder
-Will South's struggle without Quade Cooper??
-Can GPS keep up the rage of 2018
-Will the new coaches make a difference to their Teams (Easts, Brothers etc)
Getting excited already and its still months away.

Mate Always hard to tell as teams differ so greatly from year to year as players either move to Super Rugby interstate, Move overseas, or retire.
The big movers this year for mine is Brothers. Every team except the Prems made the finals last year so I expect them to improve.
Bond played the house down in the second half last year and would have given it a real shake had they made the finals.
Norths who knows they were steadily improving but have lost the coach as well as some other issues.
Easts new and very capable coaches so may find it difficult under new management.
UQ Business as usual
GPS I have heard of a few retirements so I expect a Premiership hangover.
The Bank are generally a better team on paper than on the park.
Souths Similar coaches but many changes in the team so could have a drop off.
Wests I expect them to bounce back after a poor year compared to expectations last year.
Until we see who has gone where it would be difficult to use anything other than a broad brush.

I see Gav Luka and Fraser McReight have been included in the Qld Reds Squad for 2019.
Fraser had a great year in 2018 with Brothers but did Gav play much last year with Bond. Can't remember seeing him on the park? I know he has always struggled with injuries.
Good luck to the both of them and it great to see the Reds continuing on bring in the young guys (20 - 21YO)

I don't expect any GPS hangovers. I expect they will recruit more than adequately to cover the losses and with Fogarty on board they have one of the best man managers in the business. Many of the GPS faithfull are very happy to see him back.

I'd be very surprised if GPS don't experience a Premiership hangover.
Maybe hangover is the wrong description but to win a premiership in any sport/grade requires a lot of things to go right - recruitment, retention, injury etc and it's unusual to get that run for you two years in a row.
Mind you Brothers had a great run through the 80's, St George RL 11 straight, Brisbane Lions (3), and the Broncos were the last NRL club to go back to back ('92-'93).

......and depth. A strong Reserve Grade will help nullify recruitment, retention, injury etc

Reserve grade players are reserve graders because they are not as good as the first graders.
GPS reserve grade finished 4th in 2018 so if you are using reserve grade as an indicator of first grade success the following year then that means 3 other clubs (Bros, Easts & Wests) are better placed than GPS.

Bulldog I suggest you go to the historical archives and rather then list me the years GPS made the playoffs since 1996 you list the seasons they didn’t make it
Some clubs are just perennial over achievers and that’s what I see with the gallopers. They’ll be in the sniff come August 2019 for top 4 north.

No I don’t.
Not saying they won’t be much approved. New coach incoming who’s head coach of Qld country.. interested to see if they’ll recruit/poach any NRC talent.
Main reason I’m not interested in betting brothers due to your Data analysis is because the UQ/GPS premier teams of 2017/2018 were not going into the 2nd last round where the premier grade team could of walked away with the wooden spoon.
I just think it’s going to be a massive turnaround for brothers to win it all. Not saying it’s not possible but I’d rather put my hard earn money on a blue chip wager like UQ or GPS.

I agree Triplets, It's been a really productive couple of months down at Yoku. The sessions have been awesome with good numbers and it's been great to see Fogs back down in the Blue and Green, he has been missed. I know the playing group have been really impressed with him and Garbs and just what they are bringing to the sessions. Really balanced coaching group. Bring on 2019.

Legaleagle, I was pleased to see GPS win this year - well done to all at Yoku Rd.
I am also glad to see Foggerty back at GPS.
But you would be bucking recent history if you went back to back - not since Canberra (2001-03) and Souths (91-95) has it been done.
Having said that everyone starts in the same position come kick-off round 1, 2019.

I agree totally Bulldog, massive undertaking going back to back and throw in the early return of the Reds players due to the RWC it could be a really interesting second half of the season. Early wins will be very important and I think the cohesion we will have from last year and the fact that we haven't lost too many players will put us in a good position to get off to a good start. A little inside knowledge from Garbs and Fogs I'm sure will also be an advantage when coming up against their previous clubs. How are the doggies looking? Great bunch of colts coming through into grades this year which will really bolster the senior ranks.

Hearing that Sunnybank captain Nathan Den Hoedt has picked up a training contract with the Waratahs and will play club Rugby for Randwick next year. Can anyone confirm this? Would be a huge loss for the dragons if true

Wests will lose the services of Lachie Maranta in 2019 as he has signed with the Dragons - the St George Illawarra Dragons that is.
He was a good contributor at the Bulldogs but he may well be better suited to the 6 tackle game.
He was an outstanding schoolboy player at Gregory Terrace.
He probably struggled finding his ideal position in rugby maybe he would have been a better #12 or #15 rather than at #13 where he predominantly played for Wests.
