Any chance of Dammers being shown the door and a recently unemployed former GPS player taking over the rains if the Gallopers are no good after round 2?

Does anyone know why Easts are looking for a new backs coach?

Didn't Tim Sampson take a role coaching in Canberra this year?

Maybe Sampson, Heenan, Picone, etc might be the answer for the Reds in 2017?

At least these guys have runs on the board.

Yes tim did take the coaching role at the Vikings and from all reports is loving the professionalism down there. Unlike the Reds, the brumbies encourage there wider training players to play club rugby. Take note QRU..

If there was a button for a 1000 likes for this comment (particularly the last part) I would hit it twice ;)

Do they want a former player who's had experience coaching with the Wallabies and two Super franchises?

Interesting to note that stefano 'tampon' hunt has left GPS and headed to Crosby!!!
Why tampon??? He is in for 1 week then out for 3.
Good luck stef... Wonder if the heartstrings gives way when both teams clash

I think Brothers over Norths and Sunnybank over GPS are the only safe bets this weekend.

Bond are going to be a real threat for finals and I think may get over Easts.

I'll tip Souths over Uni after I saw this

Congratulations to @QLDCountry_NRC young gun Conor Mitchell on selection in @Aussie7s squad for #Canada7s: bit.ly/1X8DUag

Isn't Mitchell Uni's captain? Good for him but big blow to Uni.

Well done to Conor. I was pretty happy when I read that. I can't believe he's only 21. I thought he was outstanding in the Premier Grade GF in 2012.

Jamie8 I don't know about the bank.. Very small pack coming up a beefed up GPS side.. Should be very interesting..
I still think that Uni will put the cleaners through Souths... Always worried me when a coach(Souths) gets around town saying no doubt about going back to back

Is is always harder staying at the top than the journey to the top - that is why you rarely see back to back Olympic champions.

I was talking to the boys after GPS trial game against Brothers on the wknd and they have informed me that prems reserve grade forwards coach Tonga Lea'aotea has walked from the club.

Souths Magpies 2016 Preview

Reigning Premiers Souths Rugby Union look to go back to back in 2016 after a stellar run in the finals last year. As a result, a number of key players were rewarded with Dave Feao and Tom Murday picking up pro contracts in France along with Stephan Van Der Walt moving into the Australian Sevens program. The Magpies will need the remaining experienced campaigners to lead the way in 2016...

Jack Payne as in the lock that went to Wales? He'll be a great addition.

Was there any reason he's come back, or did he just not cut the mustard professionally?

Dizzle - Stefano Hunt is injured at the moment but will be wearing butchers stripes this year.

Does anyone know the premiership odds? Sportsbet haven't put them up yet. Uni would have to be favourites at this stage.

Indeed he is!! Brothers 2nd grade will be particularly strong when he gets back from injury.
No haven't seen any odds. I dare say Saturday they will be out. You would have to think Uni will be around the $5 quote

Is GPS Premier grade equivalent to Brothers 2nd grade dizzle?
Not sure why so much love for uni on these pages. We got beaten pretty easily on the weekend by an under strength Sunnybank.
