Filth - didn't see either of the incidents to which you refer - the 10 men or the manager/trainer - but I would say that Brendan McKibbin's Brother-in-law (Simon Moore) is the best referee in the comp.

I thought the support on the weekend was great, TT. You might disagree/agree. From the distance I could see Easts supporters (all 10 of them) at one time pissing behind the mounds, a bit of decorum please.
Toiletry at Bottemley mustn't be progressive by the looks of things.

One thing I did see was the Easts manager or trainer absolutely screaming at the referee about the scrum. I couldn't imagine why.

The Filth take on G.P.S this Saturday. I hope Brothers put up a strong challenge to a wounded Galloper.

You sound like a residential real estate agent.

Well said Oldmate.

Aces - I think you are being a bit rough with your "3pm beers" theory is outrageous.

Club culture is not just the social interaction and beers in the beer garden, it is about board/admin/coaches/players interaction, a one club mentality (Seniors & Juniors), family/community values underpinning the club. I think we do these well at Easts and they generally need to be in place before you have on field success.

Easts lower grades have been a force in the past and will one day be that again but with the talent and experience available at present within the club it is going to be a while before that happens.

If your theory was based on the rowdy group of supporters at Crosby last Saturday - FYI they were primarily 3rd graders (Oldmate calls them 4th grade - whatever their correct name is) who had a bye and had partaken in a pub crawl on the way to Crosby last Saturday.

They created some atmosphere at Crosby and I think simply by turning up to support the Prems shows that they have a decent club ethos.

For the record 3rd grade is the only lower grade sides that has secured multiple wins this year.

And Leakytap - I have been quiet because I have my "TigersTale" between my legs at moment after 4 games that Easts were in but failed to get the win - Souths, Uni, GPS & Bros - one has to question whether the desperate desire that produced the 2013 success has waned in 2014. We will have to see how desperate they are this weekend against the Dragons.

I don't think what I meant came out the right way oldmate and TT. I see plenty of talented past players in the grandstands that don't play anymore and that lowest east team is pretty much full of former prem grade players.

I just meant that there is talent that could be better utilised on the field from the grandstand or atleast in higher teams then 3rd grade?

Fair enough Aces - I see what you mean but most of those guys running around in 3rd grade have moved on in life - got married, had kids, got decent jobs, etc and their priorities are different.

We need to bring on a new breed and the only way you do that consistently is through good colts programs.

I didn't really see anything from the Brothers/Easts game that has warranted this discussion. So not sure what Filth and TT were watching.

Queensland Premier Rugby referees do not have the technology to referee the games to a high standard. They do not have TMO and have to rely a lot on the AR recommendations and first up interpretations!

Even though Brothers have had some shocker calls go against them in the past (like every other club) it still doesn't change the fact the QPR referees do a great job! Period!

I have deleted some posts with the description: Accusation etc

These deletions are also of discussions on the matter, and quotes.

No more please otherwise we will have to go to cards.

Thank you
.

Give me a Red then please Lee - all I was trying to establish was whether Greene was offside in the opinion of impartial submitters.

I didn't appreciate that this forum was not open for freedom of speech when it comes to refereeing decisions and appointments.

On the greater part the referees in QPR do an outstanding job given the resources that they have. And there are many fine whistle blowers amongst them e.g. Hoff, O'Brien, Michelmore, Haddock, Moloney, etc

On this note I will go into a self imposed hibernation.

But with one footnote - the position in which Easts find themselves is primarily the making the Easts side not any particular referee.

Calm down Lee, it wasn't offensive and it was only a discussion.

Anyway, Tigers backline reshuffle, Deck 9, Mullins 10, Brandon 15

A good option in my opinion.

I don't like Parry over Moore at Blindside though, because Parry has been poor in his games and Moore has been very good.

A claim of Bias has been levelled against a referee. That's not tolerated on this forum. Here is the relevant rule.
6. Play the ball not the man. Personal comments will be deleted and you'll get a card or ban.
This also applies to comments about players, coaches, Referees and other public figures. Feel free to criticise their play and decisions with reasoning, but not slander them as a person.
"Like last weekend, he's always seagulling and it gives me the shits" is OK.
"He's a f*ckwit who'll never amount to anything" is not.
Only a complete knob jockey resorts to personal insults anyway.
Discussing a bad ruling is okay but claiming it's part of a continuing conspiracy for or against a team is not. Stick to the actual decision and there will be no problems.

Well now you know the rules. You should probably read this post.

These two selections make me think Easts are going to emply a defensive game plan. Kick, kick, kick. Tackle, Tackle, Tackle. and contest every breakdown. I suppose when you need to kickstart some momentum a 'pragmatic' approach might be required to get the desired result. But I always like to see the Easts' back 3 run the ball back and forwards running in wider channels.

To be fair, that's how they've played with Krelle at 15 as well, and he had a bit of a shocker last week, so I think it could be more a selection thing than game plan.

Surely Easts have better depth in the front row than Sam Richards? He's been folded several times at scrum time this year yet daddy keeps picking him?

I highly doubt he is playing favourites. Losing the Parker brothers has cost the club alot.

Sam is young, It's his first year out of colts I think, so he will improve heaps with this experience.

Today's results:
GPS 35 d Bros 24
UQ 15 d Souths 14
Bond Uni 29 d Norths 28
Sunnybank 35 d Easts 14

Tough road for the Tigers from here.

GPS look like they're the real deal this year.
