I am hearing that Tom Carter will be in the Sydney Uni side.

That may pit two of the games "loudest voices" against each other in Josh Parry and Carter. I'd be surprised if there wasn't a word or two exchanged between them.

I am being kind in the use of "loudest voices" but I am sure you know what I am talking about.

There are some shots of the great Andrew Walker in an Easts jersey at the end of those photos in the link above.

I am sure Filth has him up there in his favourite all time QPR players!! Right aside Liam Shaw.

Sorry if this is already known.... Sam Greene was at training at Crosby Rd last night and is apparently confirmed as playing for Brothers this year. He isnt playing this Saturday's trial though.
They have also picked up a few new faces but I couldnt tell you who at this stage.

Will his Mum be at the games on the weekend though?

If thats true, I wonder if Milne will regret his decision to leave GPS for a starting 10 spot at Brothers...

I wonder if Paddy James is considerign his options?

Greene won't be around much though i imagine as i would say he is a chance for Aus u20s

I think T12 and others may have alluded to it previously, but I think we underplay the difference that a top quality 10 (and 9 to a degree) has on the success of a team, particularly in QPR. Given a solid/physical forward pack is essential, but I think one of the main deciding factors between which of the top 6 teams feature in the finals this year will be the ability of the fylhalves to guide their teams around the paddock. With that in mind I think Easts (with Brandon), Uni (who plays in lieu of Harris?) and Brothers (depending on Greene's invlolvement) in no particular order will make up the top three, with the fourth spot open to either GPS, Sunnybank or Souths. Of these three Sunnybank probably has the best flyhalf prospects in Ben Lucs, Dion Taumata and even Tom Lucas. Who will likely don the 10 jerseys for GPS and Souths?

I agree to an extent but when you are like GPS and brimming with talent in every position I don't think it matters to much.

GPS will be in the top 2......I wouldnt be surprised if they took out minor premiers

I think you'll find that Sunnybank wont see anything of these guys. McIntyre is good but will be away for most of the year with the 20's. Third may get the call up but it's a lot of pressure for a young guy. Not sure who else is around.

Hard to say for GPS at the moment, lots of new guys with Prems. Most likely if McWhirter is fit (I believe he has a minor injury at the moment) he will get first crack again but 10 is a position which is very open. I even heard Pat Smith may play again this season but that will probably depend on his study load.

As TD mentioned though, currently the club has lots of talent in other positions, especially in the forwards.

I knew Tom Lucas was involved in the 7s but hadn't heard about Dion (forgive me if I've been living under a rock). Realistically though, with Frisby (backup 9), Harris (backup 10), and depth at 15 with Toua, Turner, JJ Tualagi, how much involvement will Ben Lucas have with the Reds this year?

He's the second best 10 in the squad and can cover 9 and 15. I think he would be good value on the bench. Injury will be the issue though as he is returning from an ankle he did the week before the first trial.
