There's a bye week at some stage isn't there? Normally play catch up games then in grades other than Premier.

Small chance I may duck down and watch some of the game tonight at Ballymore. Have uni up the road and it will depend on what time I finish and how motivated I am at the time. Anyone else going out?

My thoughts from Easts vs Souths
  • Good crowd despite the weather.
  • Game was fairly dull, given the conditions both teams resorted to kicking, which I thought Souths were far superior at.
  • Tigers did well to come back and win at the death, but I think they were very lucky, Souths were probably the better team, although both showed nothing that would put them on par with the likes of Uni and Brothers.
  • Jack Mullins had a shocker, his service was poor, he got caught at the base numerous times, his kicking game was even worse. I don't know why he was the first kicking option when Brandon and Sam Cox both kicked well when they had the chance.
  • Michael Bermingham was eaten alive at scrum time. He was rotated with Parraka and Sanday throughout the match, and although the scrum was dominated throughout, it was particularly painful to watch when he was on the field. Denny and co had a field day.
  • Toby White is the best 13 in the competition by a mile..that is all.
  • The Easts hooker did well in filling Ready's shoes, and I thought the Tigers line-out was very well drilled.
Good to get the win, but it wasn't pretty, and Souths would feel disapointed not to have wrapped that game up when it was 19-7.

G'day fellas

What do we make of this? Easts at $11 are good odds.

Easts v GPS would have to be match of the round. 2 undefeated teams who would be backing themselves to make the 4 this year.

I'll be at Wests v Souths tomorrow. Souths have apparently been quite good the first two rounds - who are the players to watch out for?

Nick Frisby will be making his return this weekend for GPS against Easts. Unsure at this stage if he is playing halfback or fullback.

The winger is pretty handy. Also there 10 isn't too bad. Would be interested in how you see Alex Casey their 2 as well Scott. Watched him play a lot as a schoolboy amd in Colts.

He's doing Medicine at Griffith Uni on the GC. I haven't seen him play yet but reports are he is going well.

GPS and Easts are definitely worth putting some money on to win the Hospital cup as their Reds players most likely won't be called upon by Deans.

And Aiden Toua playing this week and hopefully a full season will top the try scorers list this year.

Uni, Brothers and Sunnybank are deservedly shortpriced favorites.

Will the Tigers suffer from the 3 U20 guys being away for so long? I know the Dragon's will miss their U20 players.
