How did Nudgee look?obviously churchie not very strong?
Churchie scrum pushed back four times by Nudgee pack.
Lineouts were hit and miss, even though they had taller jumpers.
Backline defence dismay. Whole team are tackle shy.
Churchie are lucky Toia was rested.
Nudgee are definitely Premiership contenders.

7 weeks away from GPS Round 1 and I wouldn’t read too much into trial form …. after all that’s what trials are for … testing combinations & new players in different positions. No doubt Nudgee are the team to beat so all the pressure will be on them, but this year should be an interesting GPS season!

A dominant win for Terrace over IGS yesterday 35-5. Very impressive as I believe the likes of Angus Munn, Archie Xavier, Jovid Aveau, Nick Lawrence, Xavier Grandbower and Will Balke (all returning 1st XV players) all where rested. They verse Nudgee this week which will really tell us how good Terrace are, most of the names stated above will be returning, though from what I've been told by Terrace parents I believe Jovid Aveau, Will Balke and one other scholarship boy (unsure of name) may still be a week or so away from returning. Overall this is shaping up to be a very competitive GPS season!

I counted 10 Qld Rep U16 players for Nudgee this year trialing for the First XV plus & two Qld rugby league rep centres, so it will be hard to beat them this year. Terrace might also be one to watch. TSS are also looking strong. BBC seem to have done their dash and I'm not hearing much buzz around them this season. Grammar could also provide some interesting upsets throughout the season. Churchie are not looking like a worry for anyone meaning the Grammar Churchie match might be good one this year with Grammar looking for a win.

Don’t discount BBC yet. 25-10 win over TGS with no conversions due to soccer posts still up. Slick backline with some great agility and speed.

They are the current premiers.
Although Nudgee won unofficially last year undefeated so the BBC team and other teams will have changed since the 2020 BBC Premiership winning team. I'm sure they will be strong though given that they spend more money on their rugby programme than any other school offering the most rugby scholarships.

The fact remains ; “officially”; that BBC enters this season as current premiers.

This is factually correct although the Nudgee First XV beat the reigning Premiers BBC First XV last year and the Nudgee U16A Team beat the BBC U16A last year, so I think these facts are relevant in the analysis as I doubt many of the 2020 BBC players will be in this year's BBC First XV, whereas the undefeated Nudgee First XV and the undefeated U16A winning teams last year will form this year's First XV at Nudgee. I don't think this group of BBC players have experienced a win against Nudgee before, certainly not on Ross Oval.

You have to let go at some point! haha.

BBC will be strong and there will be another great Nudgee v BBC First XV game I'm sure. Nudgee v the Official Premiers, what a match!
