Mate they lost despite a massive penalty count in their favour
And..? I haven’t watched the game on clutch yet. But going off speculation of the team TGS should have as, one pundit predicted, loss by 70. They lost by a try and conversion. At Ross no less. Maybe, just maybe this team of a century has brought in to the hype and not exactly excelled like predicted? Leaves an opening for another team to take them down, it’s doable

Mate TGS spent 60 minutes of the game in Nudgee’s 22. The Ref did all he could to get Grammar the win. Team of the century? Sounds like you are buying into hype. No one at Nudgee thinks that of the current team.

HAHA, mate I expect an apology every week for the next 5 weeks, because none of those teams are beating nudgee. but I am keen to have a try of whatever your smoking.
You’re welcome! If they can go all the way, great! But isn’t it more fun when there isn’t a clear winner from day dot? Otherwise, why does anyone else turn up? Do we want a competition or just pass the trophy to Nudgee now and we’ll all get our weekends back?
Maaatttteeee? I like the sound of an under dog knocking them off, will at least boost the forum feed.

Churchie were convincing against IGS.31 - 19. ACGS managed to not leak any points when they had two yellow cards in quick succession and had to play almost 10 minutes with only 13. Whilst Nudgee would have to the favourite for next week's clash I am hoping the Church can bring an extra something on Main to make the competition interesting.

Some Nudgee supporters are like Kiwis. It's always the ref's fault isn't it? Can never bring themselves to give the opposition any credit.
I must say the sending off of Rob Toia for a tackle around the waste with arms wrapped around from the side was completely absurd. I reviewed it several times on Cluch tv and the referee should be reprimanded for this.

What would really concern me is only having two U16 teams this year , doesn’t fair well for next year in terms of depth.
Assume you’re aware there’s a load of 17yo kids in year 11?

They have down to 5ths this year and winning a good share of matches across the grades early on in season

Also won 16A/B and 15A/B against Terrace who have impressive depth.

Great game in the firsts yesterday and well done to Terrace showing great determination and skill to get the win

Is there anyone on here from Churchie Rugby that can answer my questions?

Why do you have Field Goals on that great looking Old Boys Scoreboard? ( no such thing in union)
Why wasn’t there any game programs printed yesterday?

Pat on the back to both teams yesterday for a fantastic game of schoolboys rugby

I believe bar 3 boys all firsts are eligible to play again next year. That’s depth right there.

Refs this year are the worst I’ve seen in a long time and we are only 2 games in

After watching the Nudgee game, didn’t think the ref was too bad. He played advantage longer than most, but the only real blight I saw was not playing advantage when Nudgee’s 15 was into space with the line beckoning in the second half & the yellow card for the Nudgee winger for a little niggle (seriously it was only a winger) Nudgee we’re lucky a penalty try wasn’t awarded with the constant pulling down of the maul from line outs. The Toia tackle was consistent with the current laws, due to the trail arm sliding up & making contact with the neck in a “seatbelt” fashion. I would have been happy with a penalty due to mitigating factor of the attacker going down, but alas in the current environment of player safety it’s a role of the dice with referee interpretation. Great rugby by both sides, can’t wait for Round 3.
