i have been coming to shark park for 15 years and I have never seen a TSS scrum dominated like that. The BBC 10 put on a masterclass. Good to see Wallabies Coach Dave Rennie watching.

I think it is set in stone

BBC #13 - howarth best player in the GPS comp
BBC#7 - Hough is the best and most dynamic forward in the GPS for a second year in a row

What grade is Hough in? Quite an amazing player and a mate said he thought he is still only in year 11

3rdXV Casual

Frank Nicholson (4)
Final score on BSHS v TGS according to the Courier Mail

The BBC Fullback is only in grade 11 and is also in second year of 1st XV, I believe.

Huge left foot and can pass half the width of the field in both directions.

College was really able to kick there way out of trouble, with interest, a lot of the time. Running the TSS forwards of their feet in attack and counterattack.

Southport just didn't have the answers on the day. Really surprised that the margin was that big. I don't think the talent gap is that big.

The BBC motivations to get one over TSS after last year must have been huge. Apparently they also won the 2nds and 3rds.

With only TGS, NC, and BSHS to go, I hope they can bring the same game and motivation against NC in what is surely going to be this years Grand Final.

Tough week for tipping with the majority of punters correctly calling 2 or less games.

Commiserations to the Hound who managed 0/4.

Nobody picked any correct margins but the following folks got 4 wins; Lammy, Machine, 3rd XV Casual and Greenhorn.

Second week in a row that 3rd XV Casual and Greenhorn have gone 4/4. Can they tip 4/4 for a third weekend?

Top of the table looks like this:

Greenhorn...14 (+10 Bonus Points)
3rdXV Casual...14 (+5 Bonus Points)
HJ Nelson...13
Cruiser...13
KFC...12 (+10 Bonus Points)
Taipan...12 (+5 Bonus Points)
Lammy…12
Firkin Slayer...12
EVAL1...11 (+10 Bonus Points)
Ivan Milat...11
MaxW...11
Your Mum!...11
Machine...11
Jack Siemon...10 (+10 Bonus Points)
Seagull...10 (+5 Bonus Points)
Ewen McKenzie...10 (+5 Bonus Points)
AGJ...10
Rugrat...10
Hound...9 (+5 Bonus Points)
CSM...9 (+5 Bonus Points)
RedsRugbyfan101...9

I was sitting behind Dave Rennie and Matt Taylor ( wallabies defence coach ) at TSS yesterday Rennie said who are green 13 , Red 10 and green 8 ?
Taylor said “ they are all going to league “
Rennie said “ I gotta take a leak “

Well, I guess a few of them are really on loan from league when you think about it. Lol. I think Gordon clearly took the points in the battle of the tens today. Obviously helped to have a dominant pack, but jeez the out of hand kicking from BBC was on point.

If there is a Queensland team selected for this year, how do you think it would shape up at this point?

I am unapologetically a BBC fan but I reckon they could have half a dozen in the side. Romano, Gordon, Howarth, Hoff, Annan, probably favorites in their positions. A few others knocking on the door. Thoughts on potential rep selections at this point in the season?

I agree with you in that mason definitely took the points for fly half honours,Helped by a dominant forward pack. Same as Annan Howarth and Romano. Hoff is a great player and can break the line just needs an offload I reckon, a few times yesterday where if he took contact and offloaded there were opportunities.
I reckon a few more boys in that team will be knocking on higher honours selection. I believe both Harry and Dimitrius have been selected into the reds u16 elite camp.
Apart from those 2 I reckon the winger Honan? Will be pressing for higher honours as well. So going on This year alone with what we have seen what would be your Queensland school rep players be?

I haven't watched enough of the other schools to do a full 1-15 lineup. I am thinking there are only two things that can stop BBC this year, Nudgee College and Corona Virus.

I hope we get to see the end of the GPS. BBC should just play Nudgee this week for the title....with respect to other teams they are the only 2 left that can win it.

I think BBC are the best team. Having said that I think Nudgee have the ability to do the following:

Their flyhalf has been perfect all season and is very under rated. I think he’s been the form flyhalf this season and so I think he can outplay Gordon;

Their centers have the ability to outplay the BBC centers both in attack and defense;

The Nudgee wings are probably stronger than the BBC wings;

The Nudgee front row will not be pushed around like the TSS front row.

If there is one team who will have the ability to pull apart BBC it is Nudgee.

Time will tell both teams continue to form their combinations. Last week you thought BBC defence a weakness, they just held TSS tryless which I imagine has not happened in a long time.

The BBC front row totally dominated as did their lineout, their loose forwards were also much stronger and great attacking weapons but backs need to better understand retaining and protecting ball in broken play without turning it over or giving penalties away.

BBC line speed was super fast on sat that could be an opportunity for NC but Drahm will have a different game plan I believe dominate through forwards I suspect. Also worth recalling TSS shredded your backs at will in last 15 mins so not sure why you rate them so highly.

It’s going to be a cracking game that’s for sure - you can never underestimate BLUE WHITE - especially in a GF...

I agree with everything you said. I did think v Ipswich they didn’t put in the best defensive effort but I think against TSS their defense was extraordinary.

I think BBC are the team to beat as they are the best team out there. They should win against Nudgee but being Nudgee, they might cause an upset. I must admit, there is a small part of me that thinks BBC deserves to win this one and I don’t mind if they do as they are such a great team.

Getting tired of reading the BBC propaganda everyday .....can we please get some commentary on other games/teams around the grounds. For example:

What's going on with BSHS? Heard that are now using this year's 1st XV as a training ground for their Under 16's in prep for next year and have now "stacked" their 2ndXV with first XV players from last year and this year who are in Grade 12. Never see their team list so it seems a covert operation.

What do IGS need to do to win more games? Huge forward pack with some very good players in the team.

GT - hot and cold. Again, some quality players but seem to be inconsistent.

TGS - have a very good 2nd XV side. Are those players getting a crack in the first XV?

Look forward to some fresh material (for a change).

Agree with you TER, had enough of the BBC chat.

The 16's comp is a mixed bag this year with a couple of heavy weights not firing and a bolter coming in from the west.

State High's size and aggression isn't as devastating as previous years as the other teams catch up and the smarter and more skillful teams are running them off the park. BBC are lacking attacking flair with HMP playing up in the firsts. Defensively great in the first half but they're big lads aren't fit enough to close it out. GT have 5 or 6 playing up each week and really struggle to score points against the bigger teams. All of these teams would be disappointed with their seasons so far.

IGS have been the most impressive of the group with a couple of major scalps. Last year they struggled to win a game but this year are on fire. Perhaps real contenders next year in the firsts comp.

TSS and NC are typically solid with a steady stream of each squad spending time up and Churchie have been scrapping hard for an even score card so far.

BGS are on struggle street in this age group and have no depth at all so it's hard to see them getting off the canvas anytime soon (next decade).

Early crow on the 2023 premiership - Nudgee to continue their dominance with TSS and IGS close behind. Sorry BBC and BSHS (in this group) your glory days are over ;)

Good summary.
Speaking to BBC under 16 parents on Saturday-they have lost more games this year last 3 combined. They pumped Nudgee as 15As but have dropped way off ( and only 2 in 1st xv).
