Massive annoucment today with contact sports being allowed from this Friday and no limit of spectators for outdoor venues (outside of keeping 1.5meters apart).

Fantastic that everyone will be allowed back at the footy. Be interesting to see if Round 3 becomes the first match for competition points, with restrictions being eased a week earlier than expected.

Yes - some good news on the rugby front.
Not so sure about the "no limit of spectators for outdoor venues" prediction for schools rugby. I suspect all GPS schools need to agree on "new" protocols going forward with the next Level restrictions which will still control entry and exits, crowd numbers, locations, distancing etc. I don't predict it will be as "limitless" as predicted. Canteens operating? That's another vexing question.

Yes schools (and the GPS) will need to work out how they can do it within restrictions.

Was more highlighting that the latest QLD Government Roadmap says events of 500 to 10,000 people are allowed with a Covid Safe Event Plan approved by local public health units. 10K plus needs approval by QLD Chief Health officer. As with the Stage 2 restrictions plans I'd assume the QLD field sport associations (QRU, QLD soccer, QRL ect) would again work together to put together a general plan that can then be modified by each of their clubs/schools to enable spectators to attend.

With the new Covid rules for events will there be a pregame Terrace Nudgee lunch? Hope so, top day. Can’t wait for GPS Rugby to start.

Nudgee reign of the 90's was pretty impressive under Barker/Gledhill. Peaking with the 97 firsts.

An excellent period for Nudgee, but they still haven't managed to win 5 in a row.

So..

Terrace don't play BBC, State High or Toowoomba
Nudgee don't play State High, TSS or Toowoomba
BGS don't play TSS and Ipswich
BBC don't play Terrace, Ipswich or Churchie
State High don't play Nudgee, Terrace or Ipswich
TSS don't play Nudgee, BGS or Churchie
Toowoomba don't play GT or Nudgee
Ipswich don't play BGS, BBC or State High
Churchie don't play BBC or TSS.

Obviously, there are some trial rounds, but if we are to believe the above is the actual competition then the bolded teams are the ones each school don't play at all.

TSS and ACGS definitely have the best draw

ACGS have Nudgee at home too. TSS also have BBC at home.

I’m going the early crow and calling TSS and ACGS as joint premiers or just TSS outright

I tend to agree with you, however, there might even be a three way tie with Nudgee or BBC or even Ipswich joining them.

Ipswich are going to need orthopaedic underwear to help them to sit down at after game functions after having to play Nudgee at Nudgee and then BBC at Ipswich in their 2nd and 3rd competition round games

They then have to play ACGS at ACGS , a bye , and then TSS at home.

I don't have them winning any of these games.

I also don't have them beating TGS at TGS in the 1st competition game

They might put one on GT at GT in the last competition round of the season , which if they do , would give them 1 win for the season.

Pity they are not playing BGS in a competition round game

Pretty sure they do play everyone, in 1st XV at least. Last round is 1st only.

Dissapointing news today with reports coming out of BSHS that at this stage they will not be providing approval for the live streaming of any fixtures.
