Looking forward to BGS v TGS tomorrow . Would be great if they can repeat their efforts from last weekend. I hear that their QLD2 prop will miss the game but they have their centre, winger and loose foward returning.

Let's hope they can sneak past TGS and get an early win on the board. BGS by 6

Other thoughts

NC by 5
TSS by 20
IGS by 2

Wow, it is that time of the year when the punters and the bookies "show their hand" too early as they did last year. All the talk was about a 2 horse race between BBC & Nudgee with TSS being the dark horse.
But, . . what the hell, heres my pencilled in predictions:
1.TSS vs BSHS >BSHS by 2points :)
2.NC vs GT > GT by 4
3.BBC vs IGS >IG by 4(I think Ami and entourage from Nationals will make a statement here)
4.BGS vs TGS> BGS (TF-fullback will be unstoppable)

The King's Round 1 Tips

1. Gregory Terrace @ Nudgee College

It looks like we might have a competition in the Second XV as Nudgee name a team almost as strong as TSS' will prove to be.

However, the First XV is at risk of dropping their first game to Terrace on Ross Oval in donkeys years.

I think there's more talent spread across this Terrace team even missing Oyelodi and Gassman in Round One, so I'm expecting a GT win by 6.

2. Brisbane State High @ The Southport School

Cruelled by injuries, Southport's well-rested First XV should pile on the points here.

I suspect a 27-pt TSS win.

3. Brisbane Boys' College @ Ipswich Grammar School

I highly rate the Ipswich pack, but they're missing an important piece in outside centre Clyde Rapilla. BBC's forward pack can go toe to toe with Ippy's and there's more class across the backline.

This should translate to a tight BBC win. Maybe by 2.

4. Toowoomba Grammar School @ Brisbane Grammar School

I remember this last fixture well. TGS were vey good under Hamish Stewart in the rain at Northgate.

Time for revenge; BGS to shock TGS with an 8 point win.

The poofta ball posts are down and the rugby sticks are up. The world has returned to order and another GPS rugby season is about to commence. I'm so excited I could slap Pauline Hansen. Twice.

BBC Vs IGS
The westies play the not so westies. The Falcons will park next to Lexuses. The Flano's will be worn next to the too tight, man boob showing Ralph Lauren's a

That is NOT fair- I was going to wear that RL shirt tomorrow!

TSS by plenty - too many injuries at BSHS
TSS 2nd xv by over 60

NC by 7 - too much depth

IGS by 5 . big Xavier T will be missed by BBC and that backline is young , small and inexperienced.

TGS forwards to dominate and get a close win - but the NRL studded backline of BGS will show some brilliance at times .

CONGRATULATIONS to a number of Qld schoolboys debuting tonight for the REDS and REBELS:
1. Jayden Ngamanu (BBC 2015)
2. Reece Hewat (NC 2015)
3. Semisi Tupou (NC 2016)

Please pay close attention to Semisi Tupou. The 18 year old did not make Australian schoolboys in 2016. Instead of complaining and blaming the system, he worked his butt off to impress the REBELS and made Australia U/20's. Now playing super rugby less than a year since leaving school. THATS IMPRESSIVE.
So stop the whining and blaming selectors parents. Instead, encourage your son to work hard if he believes professional rugby is his destiny.

GM !! Our gps season proper kicks off today.
I can imagine a sleepless night for a few of the boys and perhaps some anxious parents.
Good luck to all of you privileged to play 1st XV rugby for your school. In particular, I wish all those boys running on for the very first time and fulfilling a dream to play 1st XV rugby union, all the best lads.
Any news on 1st XV games been streamed live??

Nudgee 32 d GT 31.
Terrace unlucky to lose. Two Nudgee players yellow carded nearly cost them the match.

I had to turn off the GT v NC livestream when Terrace were up 31-18 and thought I was going to come off looking like a genius.

Instead I go 2/4 in Round One. :D

At BBC today
BBC won 12A ,13A,15A 3rds , 2nds and 1st xv 33-17.
That BBC 15A side won 34-17 and it will take a good team to beat them.
2nds was a slaughter 59 nil to BBC.
The 1st xv played a great brand of rugby-and the King was right-just too much class in that mosquito backline with the 8 and 5 running amok out wide.
Best players BBC wing Stirling and 5 Hosea.
That IGS backline is enormous, but the tight 5 ran out off puff.
