Correct me if I'm wrong, but I didn't see BBC throw it to Hosea once - both teams were throwing to the back.

Could it be that he's too heavy to lift? Certainly a shame considering his height, if that is the case.

I thought both hookers from NC and BBC had very good games, but I thought the BBC #2 deserves special mention. He filled in for an Australian Schoolboy and BBC didn't miss a beat. Can we confirm how old this kid is? Maybe a bright future in store.

He is Grade 11. Decent player who made a nice break in the second half as well. Hopefully he can get a pair of shorts that fit better next time.

Congratulations to BBC 1st XV on a hard fought win over NC. Surely Yanopa has earned a starting spot in the 1stXV for his scrummaging and his ability to carry the ball for much needed metres. The Number 2 from BBC was also impressive. He will certainly be putting pressure on the incumbent. Ikitau was again outstanding at 13.

Is it possible to call a player into Schoolboys or Barbarians based on performance in the season? If not, I question a system that does not allow boys to demonstrate ability and form over an extended period, which Ikitau has done.

Was that Tom Kibble who caught the kick off above his head in the dying stages to set up the cracking finish? He is a 7 that reminds me of David Croft. He loves putting his head in dark places and has very little regard for his own welfare. Would be an absolute pest to play against.

I know some are having conniptions about the BBC Under 15A losing their match but an error in extra time cost them the game. Better to learn that lesson now than when they are in the 1st XV. Also bear in mind they are missing a very talented centre through injury and a lock/loose forward that has been representing Australia in waterlpolo overseas. Don't write these guys off.

by my calculations they have thrown to Hosea 2 x in 4 matches. nothing to do with him being too heavy- he is a string bean . it is mind boggling - especially because he is brilliant in the air and because they lost 5 of their own throws on saturday throwing to the back.

lots of walking wounded at this stage of season at all schools. I think the bye for GT was perfect and I am jumping on their bandwagon . I hear there are a few injuries out BSHS way - especially in the 2 nds .

I'm really curious why - is it because they're too obvious a candidate to receive throws, so they're marked up on more heavily? #MindGames

The BBC boys looked like they wanted it so much more towards the end . well done to the boys , the bagged pipes got them home . Unlucky to our NC Men but this makes for a very tightly contested competition this year.
In the younger grades the NC U15 and U16 were great games to watch . It was really good to see the talent pool coming through is GPS in both colleges .

There were a number of stand outs the 10 for BBC and the fullback for BBC Played very well in U15 and will be good to see in years to come and the back row and the outside for NC in U15 was great in both defence and attack.

In the U16 the Captain for NC was so dominate and the other Back rower I think (scored a couple) was outstanding as was the Fullback for NC today he is one to watch so light on his feet with such wonderful vision he will be great in years to come for the blue and white scored a try toward the end from nothing , not sure on the NC younger lads names but they were really good . BBC 9 was great and there outside Centre was one to watch also very strong they were unlucky to lose. It was finally good to come out and watch some younger grades play before the seconds and the Firsts , there was much talent in the seconds and not as sloppy as in a few other years , it was as always such a great spectacle at Miskin today for us old Catholic B&W faithful . GPS rugby was really good today all round. Well done to the colleges and was great to see some older old boys out and about today .

NC forward pack dominated every phase, particularly the scrum and break down, this was evident by frustrated BBC players who were continually penalised and finally one getting yellow carded. Not one to mention names but without this pack moving forward, stretching the defence makes life a lot easier for any of the runners. Well done NC boys!!

Still trying to work out how NC lost. They were the much better team for all but last 10mins. I actually thought prior that that BBC were average . A lot of lost ball by both teams.BUT
1)BBC are very very fit;
2) BBC 13 is the best player I have seen all year- by a long way;
3) when 3,7amd 14 came on with 10 mins to go they completely changed the match. 3 the PNG boy could not be tackled and the new 7 caught the last kickoff Aussie rules style and set up match winning Try .

Ok, so here's the goss from the NC grapevine...
NC coaches refuse to utilise their "bench",which they wont because this may question their selections (their egos seem to trip them up!). Unlike BBC coach (very smart), to provide that impact in the last 20-30 minutes of the game. For other teams watching, that's all NC have.....unless they use the bench, there is only so much that their 9. 10, 12, 13 and prop can do to carry this team.
IF NC were to use their bench the outcome of last weeks and yesterdays game may have had a completely different ending.

Terrrific day out at Miston Street. Fields in immaculate condition and quality of rugby was first class. Well done to BBC they looked down and out a number of times however they got the job done in the end. No 13 is a class above. All A games very competitive except for U14 where the BBC backline dominated. U15 result was a massive turnaround from the the last two years. BBC backline was awesome to watch however NC forward pack became dominant as the game wore on and BBC were really struggling to handle the mobile NC ball runners. It is amazing what a year's difference does at this age. U16 NC looked very strong which suggests a strong first XV next year. BBC will be very competitive across all ages over the next few year watching their games yesterday. Well done to the rugby directors at BBC their rugby program looks to be in good shape.

Mmmm...yeah pretty much every phase. BBC typical hiss and roar start then were stuck in their own half for most of the game. BBC don't know how to use the sky scrapers they have in the forward pack - what a waste. Besides a few brilliant individual tries by BBC, the writing was on the wall within the first half.

U15a was the match of the day at BBC - heard a lot about this BBC U15a's and they certainly show their class in the first 10-20 minutes then their forwards went to sleep? NC played as a team for the whole game - that was the difference!

I think that to sleep on Toowoomba is a massive mistake. They are just as hard to beat as any of the one-loss teams.

No, of course TGS aren't contenders - my point was that if teams fall in to the trap of dismissing them as worthy opponents, they'll find themselves embarrassed.

I do believe Toowoomba will finish above Ipswich, Churchie and BGS, but they will surely rue opportunities missed throughout the year.
