Understand there is a lot to discuss but any word on the GPS trials today ???

Was at TSS today , grammar kept pace in the first half but faded big time in the 2nd half to lose 46-3 , where they their full strength teams ?? Assume BGS didn't have to many in Syd for the Aussie trails but TSS did ???

Au contraire, slim.

Word from ex-TSS boys is that non-year 12/13 players were forbidden from trialling for Qld.

TSS have one of the strongest trial sides in Qld.

I see this game as one BGS could sneak home with come season surprisingly.

Nudgee v Terrace trial game

NC 41 d GT 36

Nudgee forwards lack cohesion, tackle shy. Will struggle against top teams like TSS.
Terrace backline scored some entertaining tries. Tried hard, but tired in latter stages of game.
Good hit out for both schools.

Nudgee will welcome back Blake Schoupp and three slick backs with First XV experience who were in the schoolboys comp in sydney and GT will see Isaac Lucas and Will Eadie who were named in Aussie Schoolboys, Harry Wilson who was named in Aussie Schoolboy Barbarians and two forwards who played for Q2, which won against Q1.

TSS had three forwards at the schoolboys trials while BGS had Fraser McReight who was selected as in the Aussie Schoolboys team.

BBC played against St John's College from Hamilton NZ and got belted like NC did during the week. As mentioned earlier BBC were without 7 or 8 of their first choice players (4 were at the schoolboys in Sydney others through injury. Clearly they used the trial as an opportunity to give many a run.

The days of Nudgee dominating the lower grades seems over. Terrace won all the A games from Under 13-16. Dominated in Under 14 where Terrace back line looked awesome. Under 16 closer but Terrace up by a try. 8 for Nudgee stood out with brilliant individual try. Terrace well served by their 12/13 combination.

Correct
The 2nd half was the 16A backline. That said the Kiwis were brilliant . Props scoring length of field tries!!

Re under 14,- a GT parent I know well said there are 4 new boys in that team including one who was QRL captain.
I dont know where the new 12 came from but he is brilliant.
Also the new boy "Patrick"?? was sensational .NC need to keep up.

Is this is the first time NC and TSS have zero selected in the history of the Aussie Schoolboys?

As HJ always says, there will always be changes to the band-aid brigade. Methinks there will be at least 1 from each of these schools before the kickoff in Sept.

Good to see the +120kg 2+++ meter Angus Blythe back on the field yesterday in the TSS trial. He will be a big factor this year for TSS (if the boys can lift him in the line outs). TSS don't have any individual stars this year but they have a good looking bench and all round talent that has ability to upset any team on the day. I'm looking forward to their GPS season.

Shouldn't that 8 be in the 1st? had an instant impact when we came on the field for the 1st......albeit a few minutes

Gee - they must be confident down at Toowong !
BBC were the only school to have no age group trials last weekend and the only school not to have a rugby camp in the last week of term - followed by a Bye in the first round this weekend ! At least the boys will be well rested ... if not overly familiar with their team mates !

Don't think they have any reason for confidence then - maybe just new staff new approach

Word is at BBC and witnessed on the weekend that the new head coach only talks to the captain of rugby and has no communication skills.
Heard this was the same at Nudgee.
These boys are under a cloud constantly and did not bond with the coach at camp.
