My nephews at BBC tell me there a regular visits by Totai Kefu at open squad training.So he must have a gig.I must say I was sorry to see Drahm go - and that is a pretty good coaching line up BBC is putting together. They seem to be staying under the radar and very quiet this year.
Apart from the GPS trails at TSS this month are any of the schools playing trial matches over the next few weeks or is it too soon??? (New to the gps system so please forgive)
I think you'll find the NC 1st's play State High the week before, due to the continuation of the GPS trials that weekend. The age group A and B's are on the 4th.Nudgee play State High on 4th June. Not sure if there are any other trials before that.
NC are playing BGS and TSS.Does anyone know who is playing who in the GPS trials on the 21st?

Common wisdom seems to have Terrace as odds on favourites in the 13's and BBC would seem to be favourites again in the 15's with Terrace in immersion , although , State High should mount a strong challenge
14's will be State High IMO
What isn't clear is how this year's 16's shape up
What are poster's thoughts on how the 16's go this year ?
I think NC 16's will be strong with a good coach, most in 1st squad will probably start in 16's (except for 2 or 3 standouts) the experience for the rest will really push the 16''s forwardThe 16's is going to be wide open this year.
As far as NC being front runners, it is going to be a big ask for the U16 butcher boys as their depth in this age group is going to be tested. They have still got a bucket load of players training with the firsts, which happens to be their main ball runners that were their go to players in the U15s last year. Some big shoes to fill for the U16 NC team if the majority of those boys make the grade to play in the NC 1st XV.

Speaking to a BBC dad today & he said:
1) all the new coaches have fitted in well AND Kefu is there a lot;
2)some of the "stars" have niggling injuries (a prop?) and may not be in GPS trials;
3) they have real depth at prop & hooker so some boys will be unhappy;
4) an electric backline (like last 3 years) but with a bit more depth this year ;
5) But BIG issues with 8 and 7. Real concern there.
The boy must have been in the running for 1sts or 16a this year its a strange move to make from a rugby power house to top 4 contenders - Is there a new #9 at Nudgee? Or is this more than just a Rugby move?NC U16A's half back appears to have gone walk about and has gone from the reservation. Will be calling GT home from Monday.
Big loss for Nudgee.
