G'day everyone. Long time no see.

Had a peruse of the JGC squads, pleased to see plenty of GPS representation.. Going through the names I spotted a fair few First XV reps from last year.

Joel Kuchel, Sean Farrell, Fraser Cotton?, Fraser McReight, Tim Sippel, Martin Koorts, Zac Shepherd, Reuben Wall and Unga Wolske are all in line to play three years of First XV footy, so you can imagine these boys will be leading the Qld and Aussie Schoolboy charge for 2016.

Looking forward to the JGC to get a peak at which boys will be putting their hands up for 1st XV duty this year.

It was Tom Lutvey he was Wall's back up - Jack is a flanker.

JGC isn't the worst indicator, but it isn't the best.
I know that from the respected schools, these fella's have a tone of work cut out for them if they want to play 1st XV

Is there a national championship sevens that those boys are competing in?

If so, does anyone know when the fixtures are scheduled? It'd be a lot of fun to watch if they played in Brisbane. Plenty of dynamic athletes

The Youth Championships are taking place at Narabeen in Sydney (Australian Sports Academy) on the 28th Feb & 1st March. Rumor has it they will be picking the Comonwealth Youth Games Squad (Samoa - September 2015) at the Championships.

The 7s Nationals start at Sydney Academy of Sport in Narrabeen NSW on Fri 27Feb15 : http://www.rugby.com.au/sevens/Tournaments/NationalRugbySevensChampionship.aspx.

Quick Hands has started a thread for it - ARU 7s Age Championships.

Aus 7s teams are then selected to go to 2015 Youth Commonwealth Games in Samoa in Sep.

King have you converted from Filth to Red Heavy yet? :)

Ngamu, veravis and Raroren are a dynamic back 3 for BBC -all in their 2nd year in 1xv - lets hope with Stevenson and Barker gone they will be given a licence to thrill this year with Philpotts ( aussie schoolboys coach) announced as 1st xv coach.
What chance they will be reunited with there 15A undefeated premiership coach of 2013 as the new 1st xv backs coach ? Many BBC supporters hope so :)

Dear GSP
what you say is correct. But can i suggest that you , spikehaza ,and others not talk BBC up this year. let the actions / score talk.
You have 10 or 11 boys back , you have the Aussie schoolboys coach and you have a squad of 30 going to Japan for Sanix.
But for the last 3 years all you have to show is a 3rd and a 4th because:
1) 3 years of bickering between coaches and players- especially 2014
2) a team of stars who do not play for each other -2013;
3) 5 state players injured and the best player in comp and aussie schoolboy star expelled/ left school? 2012.

Phillpotts will get the best out of them this year.my brother played Ngamu in a 7 s comp and said after he scored 4 tries " its unfair for him to play 7s"
good luck .
With Hewiit back ( 3rd year in 1st xv) Nudgee are team to beat .

Looking at the 7's team makeup, BBC have the most representation which would mean they would have a relatively fast back line and on paper look good in attack. Churchie I think have lost a few key backline players. However, the difference will be which teams forwards create the opportunities.

I agree with your comment regarding the forwards dominating to allow the classy backs to shine. The ole saying still stands,"starts up front". Looking forward to the 2015 season! Churchile will still be strong as with nudgee..
