Great game at Ross Oval. terrace spirited but ran out of legs and not as controlled as last few weeks. #12 outstanding for GT, #1 #10 and #13 for NC. NC played a controlled game.
Biggest talking point from the at least 20 Nudgee people I spoke to was the extreme disappointment about the 15 As not playing, which included a number of 15A 'people'
Directly heard Daryl hanley tell the ground announcer
" The story with the 15A team not playing is that 4 were injured in the crash on immersion". Clearly not a popular decision anywhere!

Interesting game at Ross Oval today with NC running away with the game in the latter part of the second half. First half was a very scrappy, stop start affair with lots of penalties and basic mistakes (esp from NC). No 7 for GT was an absolute pest at the breakdown causing numerous turnovers and at least 4 penalties from my count. He was easily the most productive player on the field in the first half. NC finally came to life in the second half after what I would have thought would have been an absolute blast by the coaching staff. 12 from NC made a number of telling runs (best game I have seen him play) and Maclean Jones NC 8 was again outstanding.

The class of NC told in the end with a couple of late tries blowing out the score however GT tried hard all day however other than the 13, who threatened to blow the game apart a number of times, they really lacked attacking options. No 7 and 13 from GT were a class above their team mates. Terrific crowd and hard contested games all day combined with absolutely brillant weather made it a very enjoyable day at Boondall.

Other results were:
13A NC 28 - GT 18. This score flattered GT who scored two late tries.
14A NC 22 - GT 5. After a strong start from GT, NC were too big and strong for the red and black boys.
15A - not played
16A - missed this game (can anyone update?)

TSS v BSHS
TSS will win quite convincingly. I can't see State High turning around after a flogging and upset a side like the Southport boys, especially when they're playing away. TSS aren't looking like they're going to rest many players either, which means they're looking to post some points on this poor BSHS team before heading off for a feed at the SLSC.

NC v GT
DEFINATELY the game to be at this round. Both Catholic schools, both on one loss a piece, both with an enormous crowd behind them. Terrace will be hyped that they've got this close to a premiership and with the crowd of that size surrounding them, the atmosphere will be enough to make them dig deep and push home. Churchie have quelled all doubts about playing the Blue and White at home. I believe GT will have what it takes to do what BGS did last year and completely screw with the pre-season predictions and come out on top.

BBC v BGS
If Noel McLean is playing then BBC will just be too quick for the Dark Light Blue to handle. However, with the number of injuries that BBC has, the scoreline may be closer than some have anticipated.

Good call.Mclean was 4 tries too quick . Grammar never gave up and scored good tries in 2nd half but had 2 boys taken off injured.

BGS went to uncontested scrum in the first half, no. 3 got injured, they ran on a prop (17) and changed their mind, swapping him for a back rower. How embarrassing for BGS unable to pack a scrum in GPS 1st 15. It definitely leveled the playing field, BBC were starting to get dominance in the scrum- also meant that BGS ran four back-rowers for the rest of the game.
Unbelievable in GPS 1st, that a school can't pack a scrum.

NC absolutely in the box seat to win the premiership however I think next weekend at Ipswich will be a tough game. Numerous rep players continue to come out of the switch and by the sounds of it they were well in control of the game today. Hopefully a big contingent of blue and white will be make the road trip out west next Saturday.

Impressive results from gt today. A couple of draws and a far better win loss than previous years. A credit to the director of sport and his team. Great turn around.

I'm beginning to get the feeling last year was a fluke with BGS rugby and there's still work to do, much like I'm feeling the same with GT rugby.

GT looked good for the first 15 but failed to turn it into points. Stayed relatively even until about 25 to go when Nudgee blew it open with a pilfered lineout. NC centre pairing were immense, as was #2. Toby McNamee was again the standout for GT, strong games from Moroneh, Te-Rupe and Fowler as well. I can imagine they'll want to finish the season with three on the trot against BSHS, ACGS and the Spring Hill Derby.

Credit to Nudgee, they're a lot like the All Blacks. Score out of nowhere by picking up on mistakes, bend but don't break in defence, consistently excellent.

Massive crowd at BBC today for old boys day. I had to park at Toowong village and walk back. BBC won 13A14A15A (still undefeated even with 5 rep players away)16A (upset) 2nds (closer than expected) and 1sts 42-17. It was27zip at halftime. Surprise surprise Noel McLean finally forgiven and scores 4 tries first game back and Nathan Russell 2 tries. If McLean doesn't win GPS 100 again we need an enquiry. His 2nd try he was hemmed in by 3 players and accelerated. Like they were standing still .

Hey Digby. Final score BBC 46 d BGS 17. When did Noel win the GPS Open 100m. It has never happened. He won the U16 GPS 100m in 2011.

I agree he added the x factor. He runs like a winger. The reason why he scores is because he's fast, yes but because he knows how to finish. The last two tries were on his wing. He was caught out of position.

With igs and tgs to come, can't see nudgee losing from here. Bad luck to gt, a spirited effort. The gt rugby program was almost on par with nudgee's today.

yes gt improved but no A team wins still need the rep players that TSS and nc seem to attract !! BBC is the up and coming school with its new import program and improved rugby program in place.

All the games I saw today GT were very competitive, obviously a good coaching structure in place, loads of passion however at the end of the day just a couple of strides behind NC. At the end of the day NC were just too classy in the games I saw however surely a strong GT rugby program is a good thing for the GPS comp especially after the debacle of 2011.

He was ok, however he just moved the ball on all day, he really didn't take it to the line and ask questions of the defence at all. Tuttle was much the more threatening of the first 5's. Good kicking game however other than that was quite limited.

What was the game plan against BBC First XV.

The rugby program has been put back 5 years

Wouldn't surprise me if there are 15 new students in year 10 next year.

Today I thought that I would watch 2 of the up and coming teams in GPS rugby, the 15 and 14 A's at Toowong and let me tell you that the quality was first class but the referee's were shocking! Not really for the 15 A's but for the 14 B's and 14 A's. For the B's game there were 3 yellow cards for nothing but solid rugby. And in the A's game there was a point where there were 7 scrums in a row for 1. pushing more than 1.5 metres 2. wheeling the scrum more than 45 degrees! After the 3rd scrum the ref should have called a penalty. After this ridiculous play 1 of the front rowers went off injured. This is a disgrace! These kid's are only 14!
