2011 ACGS Results:
16A- 4th
16B- 1st
16C- 1st
16D- 2nd
16E- 2nd

Don't get your hopes up. Churchie will be in with a good shot based of those results, especially with all the new boys this year for the centenary year. Nudgee will be a big threat to this goal, finishing strongly in age-groups (Bar 16C's, finishing 7th).
The 16 As came 1st and with the immense talent joining that group going undefeated from the 1sts to 5ths will be a good thing.NUDGEE WONT KNOW WHAT HIT THEM

How can anyone tell who's going to win the 3rds,4ths, 5ths without even knowing the teams..
I AM SAYING THAT IN THIS PARTICULAR YEAR THE STRENTGH AND PREPARATION WILL PUSH RIGHT DOWN TO THE 5THS.THE CHURCHIE 2NDS WILL BEAT SOME 1STS AND THE 5THS WILL BEAT SOME THIRDS.THIS IS AN OPINION THAT DOES NOT NEED EXPLAINING BECAUSE THE CENTENARY YEAR IS WHY IT IS HAPPENING.

No it wont be. They have 2 new imports. Also for those who don't know, Dean van Heteren Swemmer got expelled.
The imports are...
Vincent Quigley - Halfback (Yr 12)
Nigel Tanuvasa - Center (Yr 11)
Nigel's a samoan but has lived in Melbourne for most of his life. He played for Victoria last year. And he has a nice looking tribal tattoo. Don't know too much about Quigley.

1. Jack Leamon
2. Joe Warriner/Will Bailey
3. Ethan Machin
4. Luke Sheperd
5. Charlie Brown/Will Godfrey
6. Michael Gunn
7. Digger MacMillian/Seb Georgiou
8. Lochey Oppenheimer

9. Vincent Quigley
10. Darcy Eason
11. Alex West
12. Jack Poplawski/Angus McClanahan
13. Nigel Tanuvasa
14. Monty Ioane
15. Sam Hyne

That would be more likely. Probably Warriner over Bailey. And they could shift Georgiou to second row to accommodate for digger.

Tanuvasa will be a sensation ,what pedigree has Quigley?

Quigley played for Queensland U17 last year at the junior state champs.

So Schafer, who played National Indigenous last year is unlikely to make the starting XV?

If the season was played on paper the competition would be already over. There are two QLD players in nearly every position.

The seconds will be awesome with the firsts being one of the best ,if not the best ,Churchie side ever

The Churchie '03 team would have to be a better side on paper. I doubt it would be competitive with BSHS '09 team too.

i seem to notice there has been either little or negative talk of bbc's 1st 15 this year. seeing that we have brought in 5 new players, all whom dominated in rep. and interstate competitions, i find it hard to believe that they havent been talked about as a possible premiership team depsite churchies new team, im not saying on paper we would be better, but we would without a doubt be in it

in fact i also think this constant overating of churchie has left many others team underated
i know for a fact the state high not only holding size, now is holding a much needed team bond. anyone who has travelled near southbank in the last couple of days would have seen the big boys running as a group pushing each other.
ive noticed grammar have packed a admirable team with possible return of levi, and with the two tss boys jack and cody both of whom have gotten considerably larger in the off season, aswell as the kicking genious sam green, they will be carrying a number of past 1st boys from 2011 and are a definite possiblity for a suprise premiership
another team whom although a "big Comeback" is expected of, although im not to sure that they will make of the size everyone is expecting, but they will have some underdog pull throughs from this team. carry a number of boys also from the first, although from an adismal team last year, with boys like tom given and isaac french, both whom have gained much needed kilos, now the lanky lock from last year whom dominated at lineouts but was dominated on contact will now be one of the biggest brute forces in gps. along with tom given whos infamous A crew or team, has been getting stronger. but yet again i do expect big looses from this team aswell against teams such as bbc churchie and nudgee, with possible suprise wins, but still a dissapoitning season is predicted, but not as bad as last year
another team which will be a standout is ippy, although losing many players there brilliant second rowing is an absolute machine when it comes to rugby representing many state and rep teams last year aswell as what i belive a shot at the aus schoolboys, there is also the fiesty hooker whom makes a return, all in all churchie will not be the only team making a statement this year

I agree, BGS are looking strong on paper and Greene will be very good this year too. Levi has finished school though, so wont be returning.

Possible Terrace First XV

  1. Tom Morris
  2. Samuel Colbran
  3. Anthony Torbey
  4. Petar Vidakovic
  5. Stephen Powell
  6. Jake Vedelago
  7. Jake Greentree
  8. James Cupples
  9. William Thorpe
  10. Christopher John (C)
  11. Reshan Nair
  12. Abraham Hopkins (VC)
  13. Digby Ioane
  14. Duncan Herd
  15. Timothy Rodgers
I know it's a little bit left field, but the brains in that team (Particularly Colbran, Torbey, Powell and Vedelago) cannot be matched, they will be able to outwit many in the GPS competition. With Christopher John leading from the front, the Red & Black will be inspired to greater heights. Not to mention some tall timber in the second row, if the pods can lift these boys in the line outs (highly unlikely) then they might just hit their heads on the moon. And Jake Greentree benches (roughly) 150 kgs so I just had to put him in. Only weakness would have to be outside centre, we were lacking outside centres/10 so they're giving this bloke a run.
Best of luck to the other gps schools in the competition this year.
