i'm hearing reports of Nudgee beating Ipswich 50-22 (or thereabouts) , can anyone confirm this?
Grammar will be stronger for it next year. Churchie is far too well drilled, but BGS are the real deal this year and providing a headache to the big guns, its good to see their resurgence. State Highs demolition of Terrace puts them in good stead for a good finish to the season. Mark the BSHS v ACGS game in your calender, thats the title decider right there
You have got to be kidding if you believe that BGS played well against ACGS. I personally think that ACGS did not play their best, but BGS were off their game. Their long line of injuries weighed the boys down. However, without a doubt, BGS's structure was incredible. Every player in the team knows what to do and where to be at every moment of the game. Other schools may have individual talent over BGS, however, as long as Damon Emtage (BGS head coach) is their BGS will be more than a tough team.
First half was a classic game rolling on momentum - IGS scored early and BNudgee hit back and vice versa with NC leading 26-22 at the break - game changers were the loss of IGS 7 and 10 causing realignments, NC lifted a notch or 2 or 3 and played the position game for the whole secnd half and ran out deserved winners. IGS 2 was their thier best player but his opposing player was brialliant as was NC no 7 - the standout the day, What a competition we have,i'm hearing reports of Nudgee beating Ipswich 50-22 (or thereabouts) , can anyone confirm this?
thoughts about the match? i assume terrace's shot for goal was pretty good?
it wasn't bad, nearly went into one of the neighbours yards on the full. terrace had 3 good chances to put 5 on the board in the first ten minutes, but after then the talent and depth of BSHS started to shine through
I don't know if you've ever been to Carina, but it takes a fair drive to get to Northgate from there.sounds like a big kick! Nominate some man of the matches?, I'm assuming most were watching the ACGS v BGS game as it was reasonably close and didn't require much driving.. Who were the standouts/injuries across the board?
The display by the GT 1st XV was woeful. We must remember that they played the most of the 2nd half against 14 men (after the BSHS outside centre was red-carded).
GT boys must have a pretty strong resilience - turning up week on week to get hammared. They also cop it from other schools, parents & on facebook. It is about time GT old boys took it on to pressure the school hierarchy to change the rugby programe. Rugby is not everything but sport is a crucial part of any youth's development. There seems to be a problem with all GT sports programes. In respect to rugby a look through all scores in all age levels shows it is just a problem in the opens. The headmaster & the director of rugby should take the bulk of the criticism not the boys. For all the criticism levelled at Nudgee has an extremely strong shool spirit throughot the school. This is not because of achievements of the cattle stud or chess program but because of achievements on the sporting arena. As GT banners say "No excuses" but time is running out to turn the ship around.
goood to hear the match reports, but by the looks of it the news isn't about to get better for terrace anytime soon.
Matches for Round 6:
TSS v BGS
NC v TGS
BBC v IGS
ACGS v GT
Bye: BSHS

Who wants to go first in the guessing game...?
