Greetings forum,

are there any results for the 3 way trial between BBC-NC-BGS?

what are the forums thoughts on the games?

Thanks,
Terrance
G’day Terry,

Mate, this was hands down the most exciting result of the weekend, and probably the most surprising too. For a Grammar side that hadn’t notched up a win since 2022 in the GPS comp, to go into what’s arguably their toughest pre-season hit-out and not get absolutely pumped is bloody brilliant. Word around the traps is they were even held up over the line in the dying stages against Nudgee. That’s not just impressive, that’s a statement.

Now I always figured BBC would be one of those teams this year look good on paper, plenty of promise, but never quite firing on all cylinders. You’d expect Nudgee gave them a bit of a reality check, and them to come firing agasint grammar in the second trial. But for BGS to come out and hold BBC to a draw? Mate, I nearly fell off my chair.

There’s something different about Grammar this year. You can tell. There’s been a shift not just in results, but in attitude. Full head change, as they say. They look like a team that actually believes they belong now. They’ve got the hunger.

I know they’ve got young Elijah Breen running around at 15 or 10, hes a real slippery customer, footwork like he's dancing on coals. But I’m wondering, was there anyone else who stood up on the day? Any big forwards laying the platform? Any hard-nosed defenders giving the BBC backs nightmares? Keen to hear if anyone else caught the eye because if Grammar’s got more than just Breen pulling strings, we might be seeing a serious grammar team FINALLY!!!

Cheers, D.B

G'day Forum

I think we have had a good hard look at some of the teams this year and with QLD teams being selected what would your Dream GPS XV be in 2025?

Cheers, DB

Heard Tusi from TGS had a quiet game and by the looks of the score the forwards in general did. Any comments on whether this pack will struggle once the season comes around with no real leader in the forwards now.

Anyone got any rising stars to look out for?
Yes BGS reserve fullback, Harry "Hanga" Langdon, he really stood out this weekend when he went on the field. His kicking game is like no other, his deadly speed to regain his chip and chase or his long boot for the 50/22 is a real threat, something for the opposition to keep in mind all game.

Cheers

I am pleased to report on the outstanding show of tikka by the BGS First XV on the weekend. I've been around schoolboy footy for 15 years and i'll tell you for free this team has what it takes to bring down some of the big guns of the comp. The Boppa in blue with 8 on his back showed outstanding physicality with every run resulting in a BBC or NC forward rocked. I'm not sure how old this kid is or what they feed him in the boarding house but i do know those NC/BBC forwards will not forget what put them on their back making them look like the 375 Bus from the Normanby has hit them. Another player of interest from the forward pack is Brinkworth known as Brick caused severe headaches within the ruck with countless pilfas on his own tryline with BGS under the pump. The buck from up north really knows how to push around some big bodies around the ruck.

Recently I have been disappointed to yet discuss a upcoming player. super coach Adrian Thompson has been involving young gun Hugh 'the puppy' Devine. following in his older brother wills footsteps, he is one to look out for. although not a forward has been mentioned as the prodigy of Gregory Terrace. The puppy has been training with the squad for weeks watching, learning and after being released in the Churchie trial and I quote " went hundies". I will tell ya fellas The Puppy is coming for the GPS premiership.

Breaking news out of GT u15s squad
Emerging reds young gun william caro has sustained an injury to his shoulder and is facing a stint on the sidelines. Caro was quickly assessed and allegedly recommended to fly out to the US and be sent to an advanced recovery center. With Caro on his way to the states, GT's depth will be put to the test.

FTT reporting out.
Hey mate,
Not sure who you think you are. Looks like you've only joined yesterday.
I Don't believe what you've said is true in any way

Their No.8 Is gonna be a real problem this year not even the likes of Emosi Tuqiri (Lote's Son) could take him down

Ye mate, after watching a few of Hugh "Hundies" Devine's touch finders out at Tennyson I can definitely confirm that he is one to look out for.

Yes he did have a very quiet game. He went into the game thinking he was the big dog, but in reality he was a little dachshund. From spectating last year in the 16As he played outside centre. Perhaps we could see a shift in position to try and get the most out of him?

Yeah thought from his size, his fitness from continusly bashing it up against a wall of defence wouldnt hold up. His big dog mentality seems to only hold up against little backs so he'll most likely get moved.
