Hard to look past Nudgee colleges twin towers, 0 chock malfunctions and a dominant lineout were a huge help in their victory. Declan “dropkick” McGuire will be one to watch if he doesn’t get dropped to the 3rds next week.

Terrace completely fell to pieces once IGS worked out the weaknesses - poor workrate from the forwards who seemed to be playing for themselves when they could be bothered getting involved - some did a lot of watching of the ruck. Masterclass from Tyson Walker, seems to have finally stepped up to his potential.

Hey guys, who in your opinion had the performance of the week? It's a hard decision to make, as I cannot seem to single one out, as there were many stellar performances on. Would love to hear what you guys have to say.

Hey Rugby Fanatic,

Know I've already said this in a previous thread but I simply cannot get over Ben Didonna. Not only is he a classy player with a bright star studded future ahead of him, but he has got a great origin story to go along with it. Raised in the humble and quiet town of Moree he came to Nudgee seeking something bigger then himself, eventually finding himself in the 16Bs and then the next year being dropped from the firsts, only to get the call up with a few injuries and finish the season in stellar form. Not only does the kid hit like a truck but he has a lot going on upstairs, a very good footy brain on him which makes him a perfect edge forward, will be interesting to see how he matches up against some big boys in the coming weeks such as Tusi from TGS. My money is Ben Didonna will shut him down with his ferocity and firey defence as well as anticipation with his footy IQ. Like to hear what everyone else reckons.

Yes, Ben Didonna has been a standout for me ever since I heard about his underdog story into the first XV. Happy to hear that he's carried his form from last year into this season.

TGS v BBC game for TGS Rhymen Tusi, Keegan Cook and Jack Brown best on the park for me, Myles Rosemond was solid and created opportunities, just needs to at times let the ball go early to his backs outside him.
Jack Randell was Grey O’Neil were solid for BBC

How did BBC lose when they had 7 Reds players ? Oh that's right Dan Leo was also Reds coach. He overlooked players previously selected like Jack Brown etc... for BBC boys. BBC were educated in every age division !

Havent watched GPS rugby for a few years but does TGS offer rugby scholarships now? Seems to be umm how do you say, a more culturally diverse team the last few years.

Nudgee v BSHS I thought the game was of a pretty high standard Nudgee was obviously a class above 13 for Nudgee was the pick had a hard knock early in the game & again in 2nd half from a hospital pass from his mate closely followed by No 10 he backed up so well , however it was a good team effort as was only first round I think they will take the comp out this year

from the kickoff the highly experienced and fancied BBC team just never showed up. TGS line speed was very good (not well managed by ref for mine) but BBC had no smarts to counter that as they missed Kefus brilliance and experience. inside backs missed tackles all day. Giving set play clearance kicks to a left footer close to try line on several occasions says it all really.

are there any schools that dont offer scholarships now?
I doubt that none of them do ! NSW AAGPS are into offering scholarships big time with the backing of NRL with exception of Sydney High,
Sydney Grammar & The Armidale School a consequence of this is that their 1st XV teams play in the 3rd XV competition so it is an example of the difference “scholarship” teams make to the standard of Rugby
