Gees, based on performances at URC tournament McNamara and Prendegast were a long way in front of Hunt and Rutherford.

Other additions I would include are Joe Cotton and Matt Munday.

No way at this point I would elevate Gordon or Van Der Schyff (I am a fan of the latter, but I just think it is a step too far at the moment)

Stanghon may be a smokey (good season but I thought a quiet URC tournament)

From what im hearing Brothers will be unfairly stacked again next year with some very good players deciding on the filth

Great recruitment strategy in the past but causes massive roadblock for up and coming school leavers, particularly in backs. They will have to be telling the new guys that sitting in Colts 2 and getting a premiership is better than playing Colts 1 (and a shot at rep rugby) elsewhere

Following are just people who played in Colts 1 at any stage in 2018 at Brothers who are eligible Colts in 2019:-

Eugene Koorts
Ethan Dobbins
Lachlan Barazza
Jacob Stocker
Levi White
Sam Hearne
George Tarabay
Hoani Ford-Stevens
Hudson Creighton
Nick Houlahan
Tristan Stanghon
Nathan Carroll
Byron Ralston

Brothers will have the hottest Colts 1 backline in a couple of years

I've heard Easts have recruited very very well for 2019. Quality players with plenty of depth. Also make sure Wests are in the high level recruitment conversations. They proved last year they can attract top talent, and with their new scholarship program for one player expect them to compete in that field once again

I think all Colts teams have at least half returning, so it should be a quality season ahead and even more so if the QRU move the Colts to an u20s format the following year.

Have to agree with you on Prendegast and a few others from the Baa Baas. Oates and Lennon from the Baa Baas were outstanding. Lennon out pointed every 10 he played against. Made higher rated 10’s from Sydney, Qld and Melbourne look average. Linked with his forwards, Prendegast and the backs naturally considering a four day training camp. Oates' timing and combination was that of a natural footballer. These boys might be a surprise pick.

Bailey Tautau is a potential.
Gordon (17 yrs) and Van Der Schyff (18 yrs) are young but both performed well in Aus Schoolboys. I would count them in the squad but potential bench players. Both skilled above their years. Anyone know the clubs these 3 are going to?

I only watched two games but to say Prendegast outplayed Hunt is a long bow, after all Hunt is currently playing Prem grade (I know Prendegast is too). I watched the Baas and I couldn't say he outplayed Hunt. Also Lennon didn't play against Lucas. The Baas played in the weaker Pool also. There will be a lot of water pass under the bridge before this team has been settled on

Having watched 16 games I must disagree . Prendegast was more direct, decisive, and quicker with the ball. He also has a bigger boot which more often than not, was used effectively. As to Lennon, it doesn't say he played against Bris City, therefore not against Lucas. He outpointed those he played against. And for the weaker pool, Baa Baas lost to Qld Country by 5 with a penalty in the last minute and Act by 8 with a penalty in the last minute. Not too bad for a team with 3 days of training together.

Well it is all just conjecture isn't it, probably how you view a game. The half is one of the main directors on a field and the City team beat both of those teams (QC (Quade Cooper) and Brums) by a margin with Hunt helping pull the strings. Can I ask which team you were following (16 games is a pretty fair effort) and did you know someone playing?

Both Hunt and Prendegast play well depending on their 10. Put both with a 10 with high rugby IQ, I would prefer Prendegast based on ball speed and accuracy. Not to mention kicking. If the 10 is not so structured, then Hunt is your man. Hunt reads a game well, but can sometimes play inconsistent.

Proudly supported the boys from Qld. Having watched this age group for many, many years had hopes for lots of boys.
