4 out of 4 Refabit, although the margins were a little out.

Shows the closeness of the competition and I think there will be a number of upsets going forward.

For this week:

Bond by 20 (v GPS)
Brothers by 10 (v South's)
UNI by 10 (v East's, depending on who UNI actually have playing)
Bank by 10 (v West's)

Predict a fairly close affair all-round.
Sage I think Uni will be the team to watch out for the rest of the season they (I think) have Edwards, Taulima, Hoopert not sure who Horn plays for? etc. coming back from u20's.

No I think Meni is closer than you think to a comeback. Not saying it's next week but about four or so weeks should see him play again.
Kalala went under the knife yesterday for torn labrems in both hips. 6-8 weeks at best. Pretty good chance it will be the season

That's true Red Heavy, my mail (incorrect), was that he had that operation 10 days ago, making the ETP about mid-late June.

Happy to Chat, Yesterday at 6:45 PM Report

Correct that Hoopert is at Brother's however has not played a game yet.

HTC I think there will be a number of teams to watch out for. It all comes down to combinations and how the guys "jell" together which is a greater factor than individuals. The "on-paper" is a reasonable gauge it's the "on-field" that counts. Still rated Uni (UQ) in top three so they are not discounted by any stretch.

Of all the teams Brothers have played Uni was the pick of them so far; but they are not the team of last year, that fear factor has subsided somewhat. However they had the structure, the players (Wallis, Horan & Hunt) that made space and scored points.

Hey Sage
Not sure which one you think I missed in tipping last week. I even got Souths winning the bye.
But for the record this weekend:

Bond by 19 (v GPS)
Brothers by 26 (v South's)
UNI by 30 (v East's)
Bank by 42 (v West's)

I can't split Norths v the Bye.

ok Refabit u got 5 out of 5.....

This week however I think the margins will be smaller than you think...think u have the right winners ....margins tooooo wide for mine.

We will see...

Rugby weather seems to have finally arrived. Great news for all the big boppas who have been struggling with the heat.

And all the rock stars back from 20's duty.

As far as i can see, all excuses for poor form have disappeared.

Game of the round this week would have to be Bond vs Souths. Should be worth watching?

Game of the round (in terms of closeness) would have to be GPS v Wests.
Both teams normally happy just to win the toss.

But ok, in terms of games that actually mean something, Souths v Bond is the pick. They started by letting the Students post a half century, but have steadily improved culminating in a great win over the Filth.

Bond by 7.

So glad we bring you such happiness Refabit.

However this week like the rest of us you only got 4/5. However on the points differential HTC won on -33 points, followed by me (-38 points) and you were unfortunately last on -87 points. Need to get those points right man!

think you will find they will cause more upsets like that in weeks to come.. if they get Farrell back from Prems then look out..

Nah, "one swallow a spring doth make". I will give you that the team was competitive especially with Moseley and Ngamanu (also like the halfback Pita), however in general the forwards skill levels will need more than Farrell.

Of the teams Brothers have played thus far Souths would rank third and we haven't played Bond, Easts and Wests yet. So I'm thinking that all three of them would be better propositions than Souths, making them in the top six maybe? No better no worse.

You are right I need to get those points margins right. Maybe I am being too conservative....
I picked Bond to win by 19 and they won by twice that!

Nope HTC I don't think that will be the game of the round. I think you will beat them by at least 15. I think the game of the round will be Easts v Sunnybank. That will give us a better gauge of the lay of the land.

I think the only problem for Bond is that they don't appear to travel well.....need to start well against Souths, give them very few opportunities.

Anyone think Souths are a genuine finals teams if they keep the few stars they have (and get Farrell back)?????
