I heard something similar but he's playing for QLD A on Friday so maybe he turned it down. I think part of the appeal of living in Brisbane is that he's not too far from home.

and that he's not playing for the Rebels.

Bottom line is that there is no real affinity nowadays between MCA and Brothers. One reason might be the motto of the first Principal of MCA in the 40's, Brother Cyprian: " We have two great enemies in life - rugby league and the Christian Brothers!"

Didn't Bro.Cyprian establish the Maristonians at Toowong which eventually evolved into Wests?

So the story goes TT, to prevent Ashgrove Old Boys playing for the dreaded (Christian) Brothers. I think that's right but have no personal knowledge.

I can imagine that, at least initially, Cyprian would have been rolling in his grave at the thought of all those MCA boys going to play with the prods at Jeeps, but he would no doubt be smiling now about the evolution of the link and what the club has become (seniors and juniors).

Anyone know whats happening with Logan's colts program? I thought they'd have a team playing on the same round as Gold Coast but I see that Gold Coast are fielding Premier Colts and Colts 1 teams and then no mention of a Logan side even in Colts 2.

Oh thats good then, must have been a recent addition because their name wasn't mentioned during the meeting last week to make sure the comp is played on saturdays.

Filth what do you mean when you said:

I think apart from the halfback, all the other Brothers colts have gone to University.

Do you mean that all of the Brother 2013 Prem Colts have gone to Uni?

I hope not that would be a huge blow to the Filth as there were some very handy and big footballers in that side - cruel that they didn't play in the GF.

No, the 2014 Colts that were going to Brothers-then headed over to GPS- most of them have now gone to University. I don't know why, but that's what I was told.

Part of the challenge of Colts rugby is to make sure the players you target are still at the club for round 1. The pack mentality that they have also makes this more important.

I recall about 6 or 7 years ago the majority of the Sunnybank Colts team rocked up to Easts for training a month before the season started. They returned to Sunnybank the following training night and went on to win the Premiership but it just goes to show how fickle 18-19 year old boys can be.

I had heard a few have jumped ship but that Tuttle, Magnay, Jayden and someone else whos name escapes me had all signed on and were staying. They are the blokes who'd been training with Premier Grade.

Also the massive influx of new blokes to GPS might have scared a few second year colts away as apparently the St Peters contingent (Tratchenko etc) haven't been spotted at training for a couple of weeks, let me know if they pop up anywhere!

I was told of a possible UQ line up today (forgot a couple but no doubt someone can fill us all in)

1. Aaron Pleash
2. Al Stewart
3.
4. Phil Potgeiter
5. Mitch O'Hara
6. Adam Korzyck
7. Pat Morrey
8. Tim Manns
9. Moses Sorevi
10. James Dalgleish
11.
12. Nathan Russell
13. Liam Jurd
14.
15. James Todd

Just one persons opinion but a nice looking squad.

Think you'll find the 10 might be the young guy from Sunny Coast Grammar Zac Zropf. played half the season last year with Dalgleish at 12 and I hear he's highly regarded at UQ

Also look for Harry Masters, Qld 2 last year at #9. He got the Kings scholarship this year and will be at UQ

Sunnybank take on Brothers this weekend. I will try and get my hands on a team sheet for the Dragons team.

Sounds like GPS have a pretty handy Prem Colts side if fully fit. These are some of the names I've heard that are definitely down there and are my pick of the bunch.

1. Ethan Machin
2. Ben Hicks
3. Dylan Sikameti
4. Josh Tregenza
5. Dalton Cox
6.
7. Nick Richards
8. Tom Richter
9. Cameron Knox
10. Bobby Tuttle
11.
12. Henry Devine
13. Campbell Magnay
14. Dougie Rayment
15.

Diablo you missed probably their most dominant forward in Rodwell, although, he may end up playing a few games in Premier Grade. Jordy Tratchenko will probably start the season at 15 also.

Cheers for the edit TheBigDog. I had heard he was down training with Prem Grade, but there wasn't as much chat about him as Tuttle and Magnay so I didn't put him down because of uncertainty. Great to have him down. There was also whispers Richard Aitsi is down aswell, but possibly injured(?). If he is fit, Jordy will struggle to find a spot in the XV.

Heard Aitsi was down but that was a while ago, not sure if he has left or may be injured but from my understanding hasn't been selected in any teams for trials this weekend.
