Are we looking at a three horse race for the premiership after only two rounds?

Pretty harsh on the the Padua loose forwards to give this to Diesel from Iona. The Padua loosies controlled the ruck all day and got multiple turnovers that stopped any go forward from Iona. Also Padua had the Iona scrum on skates all day even when the reserves came on so surely someone else at hooker in the comp had a better day then to be pushed around at scrum time.....

Big test for the Brown and Gold boys this week with a couple of key backs away with met north league.

This weeks my tips are

MAR over SPC 13+
SLC over SEC 13+
Padua over Villa 1-12
Iona over SPE 13+

Agreed the Padua no.6 in particular had 3 or 4 critical strip turnovers while Iona were rumbling forward deep into Padua territory. These teams of the week are rarely accurate and feel old mate throws darts and where ever they hit gets in the team.

Damon Humphrys and Nate Clark are huge outs. These two in particular have been responsible for this Padua cohort having never lost a game. Will be interesting to see who steps up in their absence.

Pretty Unlucky for Laurie's and Ashgrove Front Row, both dominant in set piece and play, they were physical and made the other teams look weak in comparison

Looking like another wet weekend of AIC rugby, wonder if any schools will close their grounds.

Might keep some of the games closer than expected if teams can play the conditions well.

Yeah I know that a few Rugby clubs are talking about only letting prems play this weekend with the state of the fields. We might see something similar with the AIC comp where only 1st's play.

Round 3 of the AIC season is upon us already, with an action packed exhilarating first 2 rounds and its clear that there are three teams in contention for the AIC premiership Marist College Ashgrove, St Laurence's College and Padua College.

This weekend 17/5/2025 the games are played as follows:

Marist College Ashgrove (h) v St Patricks Shorncliffe: Marist will look to dominate and close the points deficit gap between them and Padua, expect to see a high scoring game from the Ashgrovians in front of one of their old boys days crowd, Marist 40+.
St Laurence's College (h) v St Edmunds College: St Laurence's College will win this game, but Eddies wont go down without a fight, could stun Laurie's throughout the game. Lauries 14+
Villanova College (h) v Padua College: Game of the round by far a more junior Villanova team up against a more senior Padua side, Padua missing some key game influences. This is a game to look forward to. Could go either way.
Iona (h) v St Peters: Iona looking to bounce back from two straight defeats and a well drilled developing St Peters side: Iona look to get the win here could be marginally. Iona 7+.
