Can start getting interested in the 2025 season now. A few schools start training in the next few weeks.

Any predictions, players to watch, new coaching teams.

It's challenging for them as they probably sit at the 3rd XV level but with SPLC not having seconds they needed to move up. Hopefully the next Head of Rugby at Peter's manages to have numbers in the opens for two teams and ATC can play at their level.

Following on from that, does anyone know who was appointed Head of Rugby there?

ATC have talent they just need to put some more emphasis on there program… I would also like to commend the school on how involved they are with the expression of Australian Indigenous culture, with there entire 1st XV team performing a dance before one of there fixtures. I hope there program continues to improve, whilst maintaining there strong connection to the first nation’s culture.

Zane Smith is a player I'm excited to watch in the AIC 2025 season. I believe his transfer from Grey College (South Africa) to St Peter's has just been confirmed. He was a dominant forward in the seconds for them, and I can't wait to see what he does with Firsts Rugby.

I'm also keen to see what the next head of rugby does over there.

Any Players or coaches you guys are on the lookout for?

After 4 premierships, Lauries head coach Welmar Du Plessis has been poached by another school (TBC)

Will be interesting to see who replaces him. Will it bring a new style of play?

The replacement is Dave Sheehan, one of Du Plessis’ long time assistant coaches. Been in the system the last 5 years. Lauries will be strong, good players coming through with a well established program in place to work from.

Iona should be strong this year. Seconds won the premiership and the 10A's had a strong team. Even with the loss of Hopo they will have a very good scrum.

Any bold predictions for the final season standing? Should be a competitive year, with Padua starting as favourites.

I think Iona smokeys to win the premiership. Big ask with Ashgrove in round 1 and Padua round 2. But sneak home with a couple of wins there and they’ve all but won it.

How are marist looking?
They should be pretty strong. They name there squad this week and have trials against Downlands and Nudgee before the season kicks off.

Padua will be the team to beat this year very strong and mostly settled team, same coaches as the last couple of years and coming off an
undefeated premiership last year they will play with a lot of confidence.

I'm thinking Marist and Padua playing last this year will be to decide the title.

st laurence's don't have the same strength or players coming through as the last couple or years and not having Finn Mckay to steer the team will make things hard for them this year.

Iona and Villa - Not sure if they could take out the title but should push teams in individual games.

St Pats, Peters and Eddies - standard banana peel for the top teams but just don't have the depth. (They all have some individuals that are very good but not the full team that it takes these days to win consistently.)

My predicted table would be:
1. Padua
2. Marist
3. St Laurence's
4. Iona
5. Villa
6. St Pat's
7. Eddies
8. Peter's

I think Iona could be a hot shot to win it if they come in guns blazing with their tough games early on. Interested to see how Villa play this year considering they had the 10s win premierships in the A's and B's last season.

Yeah we will know by the end of round 2 if Iona are the real deal or not with 2 big games straight up. Villa's problem will be the 10's from last year have to play the 12's from Padua and Marist, who as the age group above have both been very strong over there past school years.
