Really makes no sense why Robbie didn't sub him off as soon as he got injured. You'd hope he didn't further injure it being on.

As bad as this is, we are probably in the best positions to deal with such an injury.

Gill and Hooper time to step up!

Kind of puts his below par performance on Saturday night in perspective.

Any medical types care to comment on the injury, particularly was any additional damage done by playing on after the injury was sustained, ie if he was pulled and replaced at injury time, would the rehab have been shorter?

Sounds like no-one knew the extent of the injury until they had a look inside - not sure how someone running onto the ground could have assessed better. It'd be down to the player assessing whether they can play on I'd guess

Would it be too cynical to say that JON will justify Deans ongoing position after we finish fourth due to the struggles of losing our best 2 forwards, who happen to be the first choice captains?

The player is the one carrying the injury, not the coach. The medical staff would presumably have a recommendation one way or the other. I assume that Pocock felt good enough to continue, and the medical staff concurred.

What possible benefit could it be for a coach to ask an injured player to continue, especially if it meant losing him for an extended period?

Saving his job?

Because its Deans for starters, and also shows the trust he doesn't have for the bench. But a great thing for Hooper. He will know he is in the wallabies this weekend.

Pocock would have a massive pain threshold and probably wasn't till he cooled down he picked the severity of it.

The silver lining with having most of our "leadership group" and others on the sidelines with injury is that expectation is zero. The opportunity is there for the next tier of young players to come through and get some experience.
Clearly our current props continue to struggle and our scrum is ratshit bad. It is time for a change and maybe for the selectors to admit they got this wrong and call Holmes back into the squad along with maybe Ryan. I am not sure when Palmer is supposed to be fit but I would imagine he is now our first choice TH prop.
The second row is also an area of concern and now Neville and Pyle can be given a run.
Hooper and Gill will now be exposed and add to our depth in the back row.
The other possibility for a left field replacement in the squad may be Fotu to replace Palu at 8.We should now only be looking at the 2 Super squads that were fit and performed this year for these replacements.
It may be a tough couple of months for the Wallabies coming up but from the end of the year onwards we will be much stronger.

The big silver lining is having genia as captain.

I don't like having a openside as captain as they are too involved at each ruck to really see what is going on overall. Halfback is in the best position to assess what is occurring around the ground, and genia is a more forthright captain than pocock.

Off the top of my head I just can't think of one successful openside flanker as captain.........

He can whinge at the ref now instead of whinging at his players every time something goes wrong.

If Horwill and Pocock come back into the wallabies at the same time, who will be captain? I vote Horwill
