Ok this is it cock on the block time, one week out from kick off let's take our crytsal balls out of the cupboard & make some predictions.

1. Brendan Mckibbon will finish the season as the Tahs 1st choice halfback.

2. Justin Harrison won't finish the season & will announce his retirement before round 10.

3. David Pocok will sign on at the Force rejecting offers from the Rebels, Reds & Brumbies.

4. Crusaders win their 8th super rugby title (defeating the Brumbies)

too late to say that Andre Pretorious won't last the season but here goes...

1. Berrick Barnes to have an injury during the S14
2. Ben Robinson to have less impact in this years comp (heresy I know but I got the feeling he was starting to burn out at the end of last year)
3. Waratah's to choke again in their final match with their season on the line
4. Sosene Anesi to be the dud buy of the comp followed by Roodt...
Finally, Bulls to go back to back....

1. Berrick Barnes to have an injury during the S14 You sure? The odds are probably 10 to 1 that he won't

2. Ben Robinson to have less impact in this years comp (heresy I know but I got the feeling he was starting to burn out at the end of last year) You obviously didn't go to Canberra to watch Fat Cat muller Shepherdson in the scrums in the trial nor to see him fizz around the park as though he were a backrower. Pity. Having been at the game it tends to make me want to tell you that your "feeling" is bunk. But, being so polite, I won't.

3. Waratah's to choke again in their final match with their season on the line. Again?? They didn't choke in their last match last year. Look it up; you can only learn things if people don't tell you the answer.

4. Sosene Anesi to be the dud buy of the comp followed by Roodt... Could be, but Anesi looked good as he ran past Mortlock in the trial at Viking Park. Roodt? Could be - his nickname is "Dud". Only saw him for 15 mins when he came on at Viking Park. Jowitt looked good though. Watch this space.

Finally, Bulls to go back to back.... Could be - but it's not a remarkable prediction.

Geez we both wasted 5 minutes. At least you enjoyed it having a few beverages.

I have just read what I wrote last night. I must have been in a bad mood - returning home wet after watching the Junior Tahs match at Knox.

Sorry.

Brumby Jack

Steve Williams (59)
Richie McCaw to struggle with the new tackling rule....but given leniancy
Morne Steyn to kick 50+ pen goals for the season
James O'Connor to have a growth spurt, which affects his knees and/or grow facial hair
Lachie Turner to have an average season with the Tahs and not score as many tries

JOC (James O'Connor) - be dropped to the bench for the force and spend some entire games there

POCOCK - to move back to the reds

TURNER - to light it up and realise his potential

WIL CALDWELL - to get wallaby selection

ROCKY - stands up and plays for the brumbies like he did in europe and dominate the competition.

SMITH - to have a blinder of a season and go out a winner

BRAID - to sign with a NZ side

HYNES - to become a force at fullback.

And Carter....? :)

My predictions :

Matt To'omua to fully announce his credentials as a top class player.

Rob Horne to do the same, and answer the "who will be 13"? question.

TPN to establish himself as the clearcut No.1 hooker in OZ.

and hopes:

Reds to finish in the Top 8.

1. Nadolo at the Tahs to establish himself at the wing, Knocking either mitchell or Turner out. Probably Turner as I got a feeling he will have a Dud season. Love watching big Nadolo run over ppl. Anesi to be a good buy (was good in the trials).
2. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) becomes a clear cut fullback. He will kill it this season. World class
3. Barnes injured again
4. To'omua establishes himself
5. New wingers emerge and the fight for the wallabies jersey begins.
6. Hynes is solid at fullback, but wont make the wallabies squad cos AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) is too good plus too much competition on the wing
7. Beale steps up a level this season at 12.
8. JOC (James O'Connor) makes no improvement, Force will finish last.
9. Mortlock cant get back into form (fucking hope he does tho, love the big man but i dont see it happening)

Slightly different to yours Seb but here goes:

1.) Mortlock to get injured again and miss most of the season.

2.) AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) to take over the 13 jersey and make it his own, for the Brumbies and Wallabies.

3.) Lilo to become the Brumbies first choice 15 and play like a younger, faster, better Gerrard and push for Wallabies selection.

4.) To'omua to play 12 outside Gits and establish himself as a quality player.

I think my predictions are more likely, But i hope D.James' (except for the mortlock part) come true. But would rather To'omua 10, Gits 12. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) is the perfect 13.

Scarfman

Sam Norton-Knight plays 10 for the Force, tears the house down, gets into the Wallabies since he plays for the Force, is not very good for the Wallabies.

Those predicting James O'Connor is going to have a bad season is interesting, and I think wrong. I reckon he'll establish himself as one of the most exciting players in the Super 14 and will feature heavily in alot of the good things the Force do this season. He featured alot from fullback in their win against the Reds. Whether this translates to the Wallabies is a different storey and irrelevant.

Heres another: No Aussie sides to finish in the bottom 3 of the competition...I'm looking at you QLD Reds!

Kingi to start a game for the Reds and have a blinder

On second thoughts Gill might be to young to go to the U20 World Cup.

I don't think there is an age limit he's probably just about 18 now. If he's good enough he should very well be selected, however he may not be though.
