Just out of total hypothetical interest, would this be the same team if the test tomorrow was the WC final against AB's?

I'm guessing as Elsom, Horne?, Drew Mitchell and TPN technically aren't fit for 'tomorrows test' they won't be selected, but I'm pretty certain they would be in most people's WC final team.

Yeah I understand that. What I am asking though is to consider, only if he hasn't already done so of course, that "tomorrow's test" was a very important test - perhaps the most important!

nice to see a bit of choice at front row for once. It only feels like yesterday that we all would have chosen matt dunning simply because we had no one better. We seem to have 4 "competent" props to take to the world cup in Robinson, Kepu, Slipper and Alexander (and two strong scrumming hookers in TPN and Moore) I doubt we'll be particularly good in the area, but certainly have the base there to hold our scrums together. Good to see all four props in good form (especially Ben Robinson how looks back to his best). If we can avoid get injuries this year we could actually have a pretty good pack.

Oh how I hope you are right. Still, what odds will I get for the Wobs giving upp a penalty try, or worse, having to go uncontested at some stage...?

I think the bigger question regarding our scrum is not whether our players are in form, which is important, but whether the refs think our players are in form and capable of holding up the scrum.

I can certainly see wylie old props in our opposition deliberately collapsing scrums and causing issues if they think the refs still have issue with our scrum, with the idea that we will be blamed for it - scrums are tough to police and props who know all the tricks can really use that to their advantage.

Yep. Name me a fit player to put in there. Higginbbum - after tonights game I can see a compelling argument. Who else is there fit to replace those I have picked. Even if Elsom was fit without having played a few games I would not pick him. I like many other am not convinced about Palu, he hasn't managed 80 or even a solid 60 in 12 months. IMHO I would take Vaea or Samo first if you didn't want Mowen or McCalman at 8.
