WHAT THEY SAID

Wagga Wagga Magpie on the Green and Gold website: “Watching Berrick Barnes is like watching soft porn – you know there are good bits in there somewhere but be f---d if he’ll let you see them.” Unkind, but clever.

and quoted in the podcast

I suppose you have to respect him for that...

For previous discussion on the merits, or otherwise, of Fitzsimmons follow this link to the thread "Vale Sydney Morning Herald Rugby"

Question is does Fitzy subscribe to G&GR or was Wagga Wagga Magpie "dobbed in" to Fitzy by one of our number?

If the former, what nom-de-plume do you reckon he posts under?

It has been claimed elsewhere that no one has seen "Fat Prop". Hmmmmmm.

Everyone into rugby is starting to come across this website, young and old I find. I was at work a few weeks back on my lunch break browsing G&GR, and a old courier bloke came in to deliver something for my office, looked at my screen and goes "Ahh Green and Gold Rugby mate, good one!". My identity came this close to being exposed for what it is.

"Sydney Morning Herald sport department. Judged best overall coverage of sport (print media) by the Australian Sports Commission."

Seemingly based on a belief they will continue to use GAGR as their source for informed rugby commentary rather than rely on Grumbles (aka ARU Press Liaison Officer)
