OK want to do a piece for the blog on this, just want to get some input from the masses.

Always like to throw in a few curveballs, which explains a few controversial choices.

Here is my draft team of the season:

1. Benn Robinson
2. Stephen Moore
3. James Slipper
4. Scott Fardy
5. Nathan Sharpe
6. Dave Dennis
7. Michael Hooper
8. Scott Higginbotham
9. Will Genia
10. Christian Lealiifano
11. Dom Shipperley
12. Pat McCabe
13. Nick Cummins
14. Henry Speight
15. Alfie Mafi

So 0 Rebels, 2 Tahs, 3 Forcers, 4 Reds and 6 Brumbies.

Thoughts?

I think it's pretty good.

If you wanted to add a bench maybe:

16. TPN
17. Palmer
18. Pyle or Douglas
19. Pocock, Mowen or Auelua
20. White
21. Foley
22. Beale or another backrower for a 5/2 split.

Pocock over Hooper.
Fainga'a over Cummins
And surley someone was better then Alfi Mafi, who spent half the season on the bench.

Mogg or Foley over Mafi.......

Otherwise, that team is pretty much spot on........

Although I don't know if Slipper was that good?

Yeah Mafi is the left-fielder, I honestly think if you put him in the Reds or Brumbies backline we would all be raving about him. Has pace to burn, and on counter he beat tacklers with ease.

Mogg is close, as is Morahan and Foley. But I gave it to Mafi because his efforts were in a losing side who were going backwards for 90% of the season, which makes his job three times harder.

I say post go ahead and post that team.........

Personally I think it's a fair representation of 2012........

Although Rebels' fans won't be happy.......

Mafi Started 14 out of 16 games the other 2 off the bench, scored 4 tries and is in the top ten in super rugby for both Run Meters and line break assists. Not bad for a guy who spent half the season on the bench.
Woops, the two Force game I watched he was on the bench :p my bad.

If Palmer didn't get injured he'd swap with Slipper, but I thought James had a really good season, didn't have a bad game from memory.

I was also impressed by Mafi in just about every Force game I watched. I think he had a really good season.

You have Lilo in there so the players don't have to be currently fit. In that case I would have Big Kev over Razor at #5.

Edit: And Ships edged out Ioane too! That must've been a tough decision. I know Diggers hasn't crossed the paint a lot this year and Ships has but, god how we struggled in those 5 games he was suspended!

Scott Allen

Trevor Allan (34)
Some room for different views with that team but overall think it's pretty good with one exception - Pocock over Hooper - it's not even close in my opinion.

Yeah fair enough.

I suppose my selection of Hooper is more of a reflection of where he started the year- a good prospect but still a year or two away in most people's eyes. To come out and do what he did... wow.

But on reflection Pocock quite literally won the Force the game vs the Lions, and carried their pack for most of the season (along with Sharpie). So he's in.

I think Beale was injured for too much of the season. While Lilo got hurt too, he'd really taken command and was the form 10 in the country when he went down.

No rebels? Ouch. Though I guess that's fair enough as their big name backs were injured or didn't really fire. Beale is the only slightly contentious one there as he performed well when fit in a struggling team also.

I'd pick Neville or Pyle over Fardy though, that's also reflected in their addition to the wallaby squad I reckon.

Glad Pocock is back in the list and I'd agree with Kepu over Slipper too, or even Palmer as they're both better tight heads than Slipper. Otherwise it's pretty spot on, nice list.

Gareth Delve has been the best performing 8 in Oz super rugby this year. I know he is not an Australian but at this stage neither is Speight.
I also would have Pyle ahead of Fardy.
