On 7:30 tonight Brisbane time, not sure about what time its on in Sydney and Perth. Definetly worth a look at.

The Wallabies have a rich history of success. Are we on the cusp of an exciting new era, after Robbie Deans' men broke the drought against the All Blacks? Explore our history ahead of the Spring Tour.

Just thought I'd let you all know. I have a small feeling Ben Tune will be presenting, so worth a look for sure.

It's a more recent version actually - co-hosted by Gnostic and RedsHappy ;)

Brilliant! I have the deluxe DVD sets of both the Grand Slam and All Blacks versions of this and totally recommend the documentaries. Great commentary from Fitzy and interviews with past players and coaches.

if it was made for today it would be "the rise and rise, then depression and we're sortof getting back there, of australian rugby" wouldn't it?

how good was that! Edited unfortunately as I think the original was about 90mins long. But fantastic stuff.

it was just the Grand Slam. So just 1984. But if I recall they do a fair bit of lead up in the original including covering stuff like the 81/82 tour as well as a bit of the 1977/78 Schoolboys tour (tiny clip).

They even cut out my favourite try scored by Campo v the Scots. They talked about it, when Griggy took the intercept, but then cut to the end of the match.

One of the great pleasures of that doco was seeing the great man Mr Ella at the absolute peak of his powers. The try against Ireland, the pick up from his boot laces against England, the cheeky intercept against Wales. Brilliant stuff.

Genia played differently back then (v England 09). He seems to be bit over-coached these days.
