I'm not sure if it has been mentioned yet but for those that respect Juan Smith he may be back for the world Cup

BLOEMFONTEIN: Cheetahs captain Juan Smith is expected to be available for September's Rugby World Cup despite being ruled out for the remainder of the Super Rugby season after heel surgery.

Smith partially tore his Achilles' tendon on Friday just moments into the Cheetahs' clash against the Bulls.

"We are planning on having him fit for the World Cup," Morris said.

"There is definitely a chance that he can recover in time. If everything goes well, six months is not an unreasonable recovery period.

"He will be able to play in August and the World Cup begins in September."

So, how long this time without TPN and Horne?
The kamikaze style of play in attack and defence might need a rethink. As mentioned in another thread, Horne needs to learn that every tackle does not need to be a bell-ringer, TPN does not need to be the human Exocet all the time. Otherwise both will have brief, unfulfilled careers.
I asume we get Barnes back next game after the bye - geez we need him in defence not least of all.

After watching that performance I think I've underestimated the value Barnes brings to this side. Not having him at 10 cost the Tahs bigtime defence and attack.

I think his composure - esp defending - would have made that a tight, winnable game for the Tahs, which is what we were expecting. Landing some kicks would helped too.

He should not be trying to be so pretty in trying to tackle around their bootlaces much of the time...I think he needs to be a ball and all tackle person, and leave the fancy stuff to the smaller men in the team....

I know this is a bit harsh but Is anyone else hoping Gits' injury keeps him out for a few weeks.

Then Matt Tooumua can play 10 and Coleman at 12. Noticed its the first week MT hasn't been subbed on, I wonder if the mid week shit has harmed his chances of game time

Bit harsh doesn't quite get there - it's pretty low to wish an injury on a player. If you want to hope for something, hope Tony Rea has balls like pineapples and drops him to the bench.

I was going to add a "no one should wish an injury on a player" but i forgot. I'm just saying that it wouldn't be the worst thing if MT got a shot at 10 when Gits is performing poorly.

I doubt as captain or "team leader" Gits will be moved from 10 this year so injury is probably the only way it will happen. Either to Robbie Coleman who i think has been quite positive this year or Gits who I think has been poor.

Seeing as Gits got injured I was looking forward to seeing MT stamp his authority in the next game.

So TPN, Rob Horne, Mitch Inman, David Pocock & AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) are players who went off injured.

Inman is definitely long term the rest we'll have to wait & see.

Fingers crossed on TPN it's either two months or the season including RWC.

That injury to Iman was truly cringe worthy. Having suffered multiple dislocations myself I felt the pain when I saw that.
