It's funny because this last 10 years, Larkham was the best attacking Flyhalf, Wilkinson was the best kicking, Carter was the best all round.

Well done to Richie McCaw for staying on and not chasing the yoyos. If only more players would do the same and put back into their local rugby unions when their time in the test jersey is finished.

Well, he's an excellent player, and if he's still got it in 2012 I look forward to seeing him continue to succeed in international rugby.

I particularly look forward to his games against Australia, where, should he retain his current form, I'll be magnanimously praising his play and telling everyone who'll listen that "no matter who wins or loses, it's just a pleasure to see him play", whilst madly wishing him a career ending injury at the hands of a particularly earth shattering tackle.

I could never see McCaw going overseas anyway he's old school & doesn't seem to care too much for money or materials.

Richie McCaw is looking to stay in NZ after the world cup and not head north to Europe.

The attraction of a end-of-career payday in France or England has become a trend for All Blacks, Springboks and Wallabies and the rumour mill is already clogged with stories of big names on the move after next year's global showpiece.

But the IRB's Player of the Year has indicated that his is looking to prolonging his international career as long as possible rather than make an early move North.

I have to say that it appears there are still top shelf players out there who value the jumper over the Dollars. Good on him; I wish there were more who thought the same.

Erm, sorry Aussie D, I just posted the same thought as you.

Carter should maybe play in nz until 2012 do a euro year then come back to the Ab's for 2015, then after that he can go to Europe for his remaining years.
That's not possible as the world is going to end by then ;)

And why would he leave. Test captains are on a pretty good wicket. He'd be making more than enough in NZ.
