Just a whinge. High class or low class whinge depending on one's prejudices.

no mention of fijians, samoans, tongans in either the All Blacks or Wallabies. I can only think of Steve Divine as an Aussie product playing for the All Blacks, but maybe there are others.

Are they already preparing for an Aussie Bledisloe Cup win? I don't think we are quite there yet.

Hi Jury, are you concerned by the performances of the NZ S14 sides? I still think Australia will struggle to beat the ABs.

I dont think he is much of an expert
Digby Ioane is a super footballer who could cover 12 through to 15
I dont think Digby would make much of a 15, dont you need to be able to kick?

If this type of article is written by an NZ reporter, imagine the articles coming from the Pacific Islands, they have something to be upset about.
Equally, look at the talent Australia has overseas

I'm in a rugby desert at the moment, Spook so haven't seen the matches. Am I concerned? Yep and disappointed to be honest (especially with my own team The Blues). Blues will get the benefit of the doubt because of the relatively new coaching team of Lam/Howarth et al, but they had better hope to do better next year. Same with the Crusaders. They're under a pretty new coaching team so they'll get the benefit of the doubt too.

We'll be competitive come internationals, but I think NZ S14 teams should have placed better in the comp. I think the tenure of Cooper and Foster should be over. The Clan can be giant killers but as a franchise they are struggling to field a decent team. I'm probably more disappointed than concerned. I guess these things swing in cycles.

Gregor Paul IS a cock. Free trade matey. Braid came across because he wasn't getting his due. Holah left because he wasn't getting his due.

They both headed offshore to get a decent go, and now McCaw is playing flat a few idiots are shitting their pants.

I agree. No-one has put their hand up to secure the back up place to McCaw or seriously challenge him and the NZRU in all their wisdom let the likes of Marty Holah go - thinking they could convert Rodney as the back up 7 or that the one minute wonder Chris Masoe would be able to play utility as a 6, 7 or 8. He wasn't the second best 6 (Reuben Thorne was second to Collins), 7 (Holah) or 8 (Rush/Thorn) in the country at the time. How Masoe was supposed to do this was anyone's guess, but I always thought he was just above average and not up to international standards in any of those positions. It was bitter sweet watching Masoe get a lesson from Smith about the role of a 7 in the S12 (then) and that he wasn't a big grunty Collins type player from Chabal.

I have no problem with players hooking their wares overseas - especially when they are not wanted at home. Holah, in particular, could have been kept on shore with better treatment.

Ultimately, form = temporary, class = permanent. I'm sure Richie will come back (dammit) and provided he stays uninjured, the All Blacks will still be a force.

Not always. You didn't develop Braid and a lot of the others started their development here in the primary, intermediate and secondary schools (George Smith for one). The thing is tbh there's not one ex-Kiwi player now Australian playing for the Wallabies the ABs would want. (Actually that's not true, we would have pinched back George Smith a couple of years ago :) or anyone with sense would have). We wouldn't take Cooper (he's on a par with if not worse than Donald), we didn't want or need Jeremy Paul at the time, Morgan Turunui etc wouldn't have got anywhere near a starting berth (more fool us because he was very talented in his early days) - so I don't know what on earth Gregor Paul is on.

As said earlier (or inferred) players make their own decisions about where they're going to ply their trade. The only one I'd want back in a heart beat from overseas is Hayman.

I wasn't aware of that. Where in NZ did George Smith go to school?
