NZ Domestic Rugby 2021

Dismal Pillock

Lumpy was terrible. Not even one-dimensional. Just brought nothing for his team

Jules not doing enough to keep his spot ahead of Rayasi

Cantabs again backed their ref management to continually infringe and concede rafts and rafts of penalties and back themselves to get the points on the board anyway. Highly dusruspektful of the officiating crew as well as the laws of rugby union football as well as possibly even disrespectful of human life itself.

^ fun fact: SRAo R1 penalty counts: Loss Bleus 15, CruSadists... 15 :)

Please refrain from infringing upon my elaborately-concocted delusional narratives with these "hard facts and figures". The cleft-brained balsawooded fantasies I contort my brain into accepting as truth are fragile enough as it is.

Laumape was really bad.

He was very easily contained.

Canes forward pack the much bigger problem though - a lot of dross there.

Canes forward pack has to many ITM cup journeymen. Lumpy is showing that he is fairly limited I think, by the same token Scott McLeod looks a fairly good boy.

Auckland comes out of L2 at midday today meaning Loss Bleus v Clan on Sunday arvo can have spectators. Hopefully it's a nice day so they get plenty through the gates.

Currently looks like the rain will be arriving around kickoff..... Such a shame if we'll be subjected to scrums, mauls, and more scrums.

Sam Darry debuting for the Blues. Hope we eventually get to see more of Pierce as well, too.

Clan: Connor Garden-Bachop, Ngantungane Punivai, Michael Collins, Sio Tomkinson, Jona Nareki, Josh Ioane, Aaron Smith (cc), Hugh Renton, James Lentjes, Shannon Frizell, Manaaki Selby-Rickit, Josh Dickson, Siate Tokolahi, Liam Coltman, Ethan de Groot. Reserves: Ash Dixon (cc), Josh Hohneck, Jeff Thwaites, Bryn Evans, Marino Mikaele Tu’u, Folau Fakatava, Mitch Hunt, Billy Harmon.

Edit: a bulked-up Clan pack (Lentjes now weighs in at over 110kg) to counter Loss Bleus heavyweights that Clan coaching staff have labelled SA-like which LB have chosen to interpret as a comment on their mobility around the park when I think it's more about how long it takes them to assemble at scrum & lineout time. That said, coming so soon after the shot taken at CruSadists Clan need to be careful they don't turn into serial whingers a la Horrorcanes under Hammett.

Tonight's match follows a National Remembrance Service for the Christchurch Mosque shootings postponed from last year due to Covid so expect some pre-match acknowledgement & a more sombre mood than usual at NLP.
