Back in the day when NZRFU wasn't exactly rolling in it they used the same sets of jerseys for Probables v Possibles & North v South, occasionally a week apart. Or so the story goes.

Edit: Wiki also reports that in the very first inter-island match South wore black & North yellow & black.
