Another disgruntled Northern Zone parent. Take your medicine and move on.

Best if you read all the posts before selectively choosing one. I doubt very much whether MWZ would outmuscle a full strength MNZ pack. Agree however that the backs weren't as sharp as last year. It is hypothetical as we will never see this match up.

The closest we have been is in the recent long weekend contest called the State Championships, where Warringah easily beat Parramatta in the semis and Gordon beat Eastwood. Gordon and Warringah played in the Grand final (for the third year).

Let's see now, let's combine the two losing teams into MWZ and then dilute MNZ, because its so unfair that they have won for the last three years.

Yo

You need to look at things more objectively. Choose a different colour lense. The West team which in fact never selected a number of Parra players which should have got a go would have out muscled and outplayed any North team put on the park.
There were a couple of para players "not given a go" that chose to not turn up for the barbars second string side. This to must have been up to the selectors at MWZ and nothing to do with the typical arrangements. If players choose not to attend they are clearly not suitable. But I wouldn't be surprised to see some leapfrogging this year

You should fill us in on the same players being missing at the state cup and what Parramatta would have done to Warringah in the semi if they had been there and how a scrums ability to jog backwards is a demonstration of out muscling a team. I didn't see the Gordon Eastwood semi but there was a gap in the score of more than 1 try I believe.

I did like your post anything that brings a smile on a Monday morning has to be liked

Don't forget this weekend was selection trials, where for the MWZ participants it seems to have been a bit more then that. Winning does justify their argument on one level only. This year as well as last year the flow of the game changed with which players were on the field and I believe that did help with the selection process.

Apparently the Druids head into their dark room with their collection of chicken giblets to cast on the floor and will emerge Tuesday night or Wednesday morning with the list of their teams to call the relevant players.
Actual posting / publishing I don't know!

I should be but alas just spend too many weekends watching 16yr old boys run around the field.

And telling people how wonderful your over indulged pet is. The real world will come as quite a shock to both of you but do enjoy your bubble while it lasts.

Yawn.....

Do you think I have gone overboard with the weekly manicure, pedicures, massages, sports psychologist, strength and conditioning trainer, video analysis and selection strategy sessions? And don't forget the supplements program. I guess I could drop the pedicure because you don't really see it under the boots. Thanks for that reality check Slugga.

from what I heard yesterday with the Sydney 15's team noticed that the selectors faded away from the dominate norths and Gordon power house and selected a lot of southern and western strong players, it will give the other teams a good chance of the development of thier stronger players and strengthen there sides for best years champs, FYI there were 8 norths players (hedge, fazzari, wennerbom, rixon, smith, britt, Gregory, zubak) and 3 gordon players (lough, ognosia, Bosch) possibly more or less that's just what I heard yesterday when the team was called out

Final placing for u15 Zone tournament

1. MWZ

2. MNZ

3. Barbarians

4. MSZ

Selections for Sydney team: West 4 with the remaining 19 predominantly north and Barbarians.

No doubt there is a perfectly good explanation as to how the second placed team and particularly 3rd place (with one win) can make up the vast bulk of the side.
Anyone care to enlighten me?

Northern beat Western, which could possibly have accounted for Northern getting more players into the Sydney team - except only 3 Northern boys were selected. So Barbarians have made up the bulk of the side. With only one win, they've clearly impressed the right people.

4 players from MWZ is not what I would call a lot where as 8 from Norths is. Take away a few key players from Norths (selected To MNZ) and I don’t believe there was much left which is reflected in the results with the Barbars (mostly Norths) winning the one game against MSZ.

Yes, I agree. I think both MNZ and MWZ can feel hard done by. Curious to know where the 'right people' hail from.
