Kyle Devine from St Pats would have to be in consideration at hooker as well as he is an incumbent from the 2015 side. Would be very very surprised if he did not feature.

any speculation that does not include Daniel Darwhal at 6 or 7 is mistaken. This kid is outstanding. Simply brilliant. Watch him. (No, I am not his Dad)

Am I imagining it or is there no CCC boys in the above proposed squad? I'd imagine if that came to pass there'd be some disappointment there given they just got up against AICES, CHS I and CHS II. Also given W88 acknowledged their strength in post #77 above.

Indeed, they are the outstanding team in the mix. Grunt, movement, nous and previous success. Plus outstanding coaching.
My most recent experience these last few years has been watching my son play Colts Rugby. The schoolboy "legends" quickly become just another player.
The real issue is the climbing up the pole of coaches, selectors and managers, addicted to choosing players that promote their own benefit.
Man, don't get me started about those self serving sychophants.

NSWCCC U16 look very strong and with Parramatta DJRU and the boys from Blacktown / Blacktown Pat's winning the U16 State Championship I for one am looking forward to the weekend at Curagul. I know for sure that a good rugby man - Gary Tunks from Blacktown / Parramatta / HAC RUFC has got these blokes very much foccussed on rugby.

Hey being NSWJRU Champs they well may go to the SJRU U16's in the trade off (but so what) ....there are great prospects west of Parramatta (once again!)

I agree, there will obviously be boys there that I have not even mentioned. But just made up a potential squad with some talent to get some discussion going.

What would you say here ? CAS just too good or GPS played bad .. or the selectors got the GPS 2nd XV team wrong ???

I think that there is actually more depth at CAS than the results demonstrate. While it appears to be a one horse race, the other schools have some very talented footballers. It may just be that the other positions in the other teams that have not been selected are a big drop in talent and therefore impacting on results.

No inside tips from your NSW selectors on the CCC boys then W88?

Well they have watched CCC and noted some of the boys but also noted their lack of technical skills in the tackle contest, the lineout and in scrum situations. There is no doubt they hit hard, run well and have skills with the ball, but the specialised and focused skills needed to go to that next level may be lacking.

But they have the same opportunity to show that as everybody else this weekend.

Agreed. Has been an outstanding prospect since his time in the Sydney West and NSW PSSA teams as an 11 and 12 year old

Unfortunately, Daniel won't be at the first day of trials due to family wedding. However, the selectors really must consider him. A born leader, technically excellent and the biggest heart I have ever seen. It would be a crime to not include him.....huge future ahead.

Anyone going along to Curagal Fields on Friday, or Boronia Park on Thursday who is prepared to help with assembling match reports, score updates, or taking some photos.

We are very lucky to have the services of the doyen of Rugby Writing, @Lee Grant, but it is a bit much to expect him to produce 7 match reports (5 from Friday and 2 from Thursday) for the blog front page in two days.

Anyone????

We have boys from all across the state playing, and not all parents, friends, and associates can make the trek to Sydney to watch the games.
If you can assist, please send a "conversation" to me and/or Lee Grant.

We are only looking for about 300 words on each game.
