100% the PONI rubbish is what is killing our game, kids getting selected based on what they did when they were 13/14 and bigger and stronger than everyone else, no one and absolutely no one should be given a rails run into any rep team. I dont care if Grover or Taumoepeau are the greatest players on the planet if they don't perform or are outplayed by other kids they dont get picked. If you've signed with NRL or aren't planning on staying in Australia you dont get picked. I'm sick of seeing really good kids getting overlooked for a kid that was awesome at 14!
They won last year so I wouldn't say that its rubbish. But I understand your point.

Is it because they regularly cover CAS games
Suspect a bit of familiarity..
Think they only covered 3 CAS games (the preseason Barker v Shore, Barker v Knox and Barker v Waverley) as ISA (Auggies v Oakhill).

But they also mentioned on the broadcast that they could also read the CAS numbers (white on red) whereas the GPS numbers were almost impossible in the lighting conditions.

Speaking of #6s, seems Cleary (ISA) straight to NSW 2s (he was Aus U18s last year as Yr11) but didn't play Thu/Fri. From Kinross Wollaroi, but believe had missed a few games.

Very good point; did kids have to declare any conflicts? Aus Schools Rugby League chanps squads have been announced and maybe too much of a timing clash???
I'm not sure how accurate it is, but I understand they are eligible if the league "contract" ends before they leave school?

I'm not fully across the details but CO is right in regards to eligibility as long as they are not signed beyond YR 12.
CBloomfield, JFinegan, CGeros these 3 are in the NSW School 1 so keen to see whether they will play. Kotarac did not qualify for PONI because he did not play in the NSW Waratahs U18 earlier this year. He opted for league HM.
