Hey Mum,

The NSW Rugby Schools website has the times as following (but I would check):

U16s
CCC v AICES 11.00am
Country v AICES 11.30am
Country v CCC 12 noon
ISA v CHS 12.30pm

U18s

AICES v GPS III 12 noon
CAS II v GPS II 1.30pm
CASI v GPS I 3pm

Newbie, no joke it is noted U16s selectors will be at these trials; maybe looking at players away from just the State Titles the following week.

Regards,
Yes that has been up there since May 9th. We got a program with updated times at Hills Grammar as several of the boys from NSW Country are involved with the schools program...and that's only from the 16's!!!!! They are being release from Country camp at 10.30 near Newcastle, as Country and Schools have been working together to ensure these boys have the opportunity of the 2 pathways. These kids have been told for weeks there would be no clash - so I am hoping the website is the original schedule!!

I believe there are also some boys from the 17's so wanting to find

The updated program handed out the 3rd June as follows:

Under 18's
CHS11 v Country 12.15
ISA11 v CCC 1.30
ISA1 v CHS 1 2.45

Under 16s
AICES 16 v Country16 12.00
CHS 16 v AICES 16 12.30
CHS16 v Country 16 1.00

ISA 16 v CCC 1.30
ISA 16 v CCC 2.00

whatever

Mum,

I'm a bit lost. Are you saying there are players in CCC U16s also selected for Country Schools U16s? How will that work at the Schools state titles? I can understand if it is for the Sydney v Country game at a later date.

Regards,

Not the country schools Whatever, but the NSW Junior Country team. Obviously alot of these boys are ok as some are in the CHS and Aices sides too. There are 2 pathways promoted for this age group to progress, whether it be City - SJRU or Country CJRU and Schools. These 3 teams play at the Nationals. Country Selects their side end of April, City at the end of June and the current school trials on the 25th June i believe.

Hi Mum,

Yeah, i understand what you are saying; but why wouldn't CCC play Country Schools as per the original trial details?

So CCC are now playing ISA in a two half trial this weekend.

Has the State Titles draw changed, at all?

Does CCC still play CAS at 11.10am on Saurday week (Game 3) and does CHS play Country Schools at 12 noon (game 4).

If so, and CCC and Country Schools win or lose both games, they would play each other in game 7 or 8.

So, I cant reason why they would not play a trial against each other.

Regards,

Look forward to your CCC v ISA game report .

I would love to find out what is going on? Who know's whats going on? But i know i would love to. Latest update we have is CCC is playing at 11.00 and again at 12.00 whom against - Well I think that's where our Catholicity must come in to it. Waiting to hear from Country Schools contact to clarify what timetable they may be running on..Stay tuned

CCC U16s too good for AICES & Country today at Hills Grammar: approx 3-4 tries to nil in 25 minute halves.

10to12

Jimmy Flynn (14)
ISA 16s dominant over CHS 7 tries to 3 ??? All field position except for last 10 mins in first half. A good case of teaching them a rugby lesson. Prop and big centre for CHS looked good.

Hey Whatever

CCC played well defeating both Country schools and AICES convincingly. They did not play ISA as CHS played ISA this afternoon and ISA were ahead when we left. Fast well structured side ISA from what I saw and although the CHS had more size - ISA got through each time.

Done that

Ron Walden (29)
CCC (u 18 's ) Played ISA 2nds (u 18's ).
Not sure of the final score , the score board not functioning , but it was close.
Most impressed with the standard in CCC today relative to previous years.
Well done.

Yeah, I made it out there, they seemed well on top in both games. Scrums and lineouts were ok. Backline & loose forwards, very slick at times.

Whatever & Rugby Mum,

I'm interested to know how the big Tongan centre for CCC went?

His name is Topiese Taufa.

Thanks!

Newbie, I take you mean the I/C - very good. Once they brought on the blonde haired replacement back No:21 - he played 5/8 for half a half against AICES and then halfback for half as half against Country - the ball seemed to get to the centres or outside backs a second or two quicker given them more space.

All the loose forwards also seemed capable.

I don't know whether this side can beat CAS, CHS or GPS but I damn sure there will be no blow outs if they are beat.

Thanks Whatever. Much appreciated! I'm sure the blonde haired lad you were talking about was Scott Hogan. Played last year too. When he was on the team fired, when he was off; a wet blanket!

I hope there not mucking this lad about again! In saying that I do know he suffered some serious back injury while playing in the HMC for Parramatta this year!

Don't know, would not say they were not going ok but they just seemed more structured and quicker when he was on (he talked to his forwards and backs more) although he either had the flu or asthma, he seemed to be struggling, coughing, at times, and the trainer had a puffer out a couple of times.

This team's outside backs seem classy - O/C and left winger are quick and elusive, the I/C (as you know) classy and the right winger - a big islander lad who if gets space will be hard to stop.

If the forwards can hold their own, these backs can do some serious damage to any team they meet.

He went ok although evident he is predominately a leaguie. Strong player but needs to run forward rather than across the field. While he was on the NSW player 12 Milad Ferris was sidelined. Although Milad proved his ability and skill when on the field. At one point all the bench were union players, watching other players run across the field rather than forward. Seeing one of this kids knock the ball out rather than the other other team get it giving away penalties. Open to the "dark code' but next weekend will tell how these kids will go.
Played better than the week before as I actually watched the game this week.

Hey Mum,

Can you confirm that the U16s first game on the weekend is at 11.10am against CAS?

I reckon the blessed tyke lads will go ok.

If the forwards can get their set pieces right and hold their own in the open, the backs will cut their unholy rivals to pieces:)

How unholy are the Waverley and St Aloys boys?:)

Pardon my ignorance but is CCC a formal association with fixed membership, or is it open to all Catholic School rugby players?

Could the likes of kids from Joeys, View, Aloys, Augies, St Pats and Waverley who are not wanted by the GPS, ISA or CAS rep teams try out for places with CCC?

No mate, they crossed to the dark side many many years ago.:p

CCC is an association, made up of MCS, MCC, Country Catholic Schools and other associated groups (made up of mainly diocesan
schools) - the real tykes, we shall not mix with the heathens.;)

Unfortunately, the majority of students are leaguies, as the bigger groups - ie: MCS, MCC and others play league as their winter sport, although the MCS now has a short union comp (1 round, then finals) after the league comp finishes in the 3rd term.

As I stated above they might be the smokies on the weekend, I am confident they will not be easybeats to any team they meet.
