I think CAS will give them a run for there money not the strongest side in years but we will see!

Stan Wickham (3)
Would include scots strang savala and Williams let alone the boys playing up an age group

Judging on this years season I think this is hard to say seeing Strang was beaten for NSW and Sydney by other halfbacks (including McCormack) and Savala was beaten for both Sydney and therefore NSW by Minouge.

Yep i agree if anything i would say one of the Bakers might have a shot but we will have to wait and see by the way is there a CAS "Next Generation" thread?

Would agree with the suggestions of CnP and Red/Blue. I rate Dalton over McCormack. Tecjek V Dalton would be a great contest.

Scolari is one to watch not sure if he is a forward or a back these days!

I wonder if there is anyone on the radar from TAS, High or Grammar? Shore I am really scratching to pick anyone! Josh Farr-Jones probably the most likely.

Based on GPS form this season, my selections would be

1. Will McLennan (I)
2. Julian Heaven (J)
3. Angus Bell (N)
4. Liam Jansen (N)
5. Jordan Brown (K)
6. Daniel Darwall (K)
7. Nelson Roberts (J)
8. Struggling to find standout, any suggestions? Scolari?
9. Jo Dalton (J)
10. Angus Bell (I)
11. Matt Dutallis (I)
12. Matt Minogue (K)
13. Nathanael Endemann (N)
14. Lachlan Apps (K)
15. Vincent Creagh (J)

Given the AAGPS select 2 teams I would pencil the following boys in for the B team:

1. Sam Johnson (I)
2. Maclean Dombkins (J)
3. Nathan Zylstra ? (S)
4. Sam Lock (K)
5. Tim Nicholls (J)
6. Saxon Gillies (I)
7. Luke Thackray (I)
8. ????
9. Pat McCormack /Seb Strang? (S) (still think Pats better)
10. Charlie Savala (S)
11. Simi ? (N)
12. Xavier Ryan (J)
13. Cam Fish (I)
14. Josh Walker ? (K)
15. Tom Glascott (I) or Josh Farr-Jones? (E)

I rate that Dutallis ... he is too good to leave on the wing

and he seems fine running up the guts

how many tries has he scored for Mosman this year!

reckon he could be good enough to play Opens next year

Bob McCowan (2)
Some quality players previously mentioned... maybe Angus Duvall (N) at no 8. He is a good ball runner with excellent defense and good, quick hands.

I think that Daniel Darwall is one of the best open side flankers in Sydney, but from memory, he does not attend TKS. I think he attends an independent college in the Hills.

Thanks Vintage Red. Bugger! He is a real talent. I hope he has the deserved opportunity in representative Rugby via his school association.

So to update my ruminations:

A Team

8 joeys players ... Versus 3 scots?

Didn't scots 15as recently flog joeys ... And with half their team.

Farr jones ... The kid is courageous ... But he is tiny ... Their is a better back in the shore 14as.

My backline would be

9. Strang
10 savala

Then the rest I agree on ... Maybe move dutalis in closer. And there is another scots back that would be in contention ... Not sure of his name ... Altgh bit inconsistent ...

Glascott would probably get the nod over Farr Jones based on current form.

Re Scotts, I am struggling for any other prospects. Scots went uncontested in the game against Joeys so I cant see other forwards knocking off those already discussed.

There is another big kid in the Scots Centres who played outside Savala but I don't know his name. We may be thinking of the same boy.

With the exception of our mystery centre, I cant think of any Scotts backs who would be picked on form above those already mentioned.

SDW, there are 8 Riverview boys on the lists posted and didn't Riverview beat Scotts?

Of the 8 GPS schools, I personally think its a shame no one can think of any prospects from 4 schools; Shore, TAS, High and Grammar

That is probably because this site is not comprised of people with connections to those schools.
I think there will be a few triallists from the schools you mention, but they may not be sexy enough to get a mention on here.
Before you (and SDW) get too carried away with halves combination it may repay your time to have a look at the State Champs thread for U15s.

@SDW, each of Strang and Savala competed at Regionals and were overlooked in favour of 2 other halves and 2 other Centres respectively, including McCormack and Minogue. Entirely possible the selectors got it wrong but I personally didn't think so. Dutallis is a strong runner and plays OC for Mosman, but gives away 20+ kilos and 10cm to Endemann. I would keep the successful Norths, MNZ, Syd and NSW combination of Endemann at OC and Dutallis on the wing.

Couldn't agree more CatchnPass. Minogue and McCormack are both in the U15 NSW team to play in the upcoming NSW Invitational Tournament and were selected in front of Strang and Savala (This is taking nothing away from the scots duo who are both really quality players) and were both in the NSW JGC team which provided them some more experience playing at a high level so you know that they will likely not let you down at the GPS level.
Also, I agree that Dutallis would be better to stay on the wing in favour of Endemann in the outside center slot. Dutallis is a great winger (one of the most entertaining players to watch in Sydney. Absolutely love watching this kid play.) and I'm sure he could do the job at centre but why not put Endemann there when he could do a better job. Endemann is a classy centre who can glide through defense like no other I have seen in Sydney. Also a great reader in defense and one on one tackler.

Scots u15a having been very competitive this year considering being at glengarry and starting back in term 3 .
Scots flogged shore and joeys, Drew with kings , got beat on the bell by newington also got beat on the bell by a very good riverview side when leading by 9 with 4 mins to go (with mason no10 going of injured broken hand in that time).
This age will be a great comp next year with all teams able to beat each other apart from shore.
Next year I can assure you there will be more than 3 players in either of the presidents teams from scots.

Nathan zylstra(1)and Will Harris (4 or5)have been the best forwards.

Seb Strang (9) , Lachie Mason (10) , Charlie Savala(12), Fred Tricks(13) backs.

Along with Nathan Atkinson (12or13) injured plays Harold matts wests.

Throw in Ben Baker (12,13 or15)who has been outstanding in 16a this year.

Scots will be very very competitive next year when it's all said and done.

This year's 15As comp has certainly been very open! Joeys got absolutely belted by Riverview (Round 6), then were completely outplayed by a very good Scots the following week. They then bounced back 48-7 against New, which was then followed by knocking over an undefeated TKS last weekend 15-8. It certainly makes for a very entertaining 2016!

Agreed. Let's hope not too many get pulled up into Opens so the 16As competition remains at full strength

this age group has been interesting, certainly Newington were dominant in it's infancy (13s) ... however then as I understand it Newington in particular started playing kids up

that Endemann is CatchnPass says is rather big and strong for a 14 year old

and unless I am mistaken he was one of the ones that started playing up ... very sensible

either way next year, I agree with CatchinPass provided too many don't play up it should be a great comp:)
