My heart is with Joeys to win, but my head tells me New. Given what I have seen of both teams, New will be a physically superior side. Joeys will have speed and discipline on their side. For Joeys to win, their defence will need to lift, especially in broken play. Joeys will need to put News big men down quickly, which means someone go low in the initial tackle, and not allowing New to rumble over the advantage line.

Don't worry Gregor, a week of team bonding will help the Joeys boys!

My tips this week:

J by 1 try
S by 4 tries
I by 2 tries - home ground advantage

Hearing a few rumours that a few Shore 1st XV players are currently stuck in the holiday destination of Bali due to the volcanic ash-cloud grounding all flights. With news report stating that flights may take till at least Friday to leave, chances are they won't make it back for the game against Scots this weekend. I can only guess that there must be at least some schools' players stuck in the same boat, or in this case, stuck in the same country.

Joeys versus Newington should be a cracker.

Newington were brilliant in defeating Scots and that all hinged on their preventing Scots taking their ball to ground ...

Joeys will be smarting from their narrow loss to Scots .... and Newington coming off a thumping of Trinity

tipping Newington to take a tight one ... and might be the only age group where Newington are a chance ... assuming Newington 15As are still playing up their stars?

Shore will be smarting from the defeat in the car park picnics against View. Once considered a no brainer, the Northbridge sausage rolls were shown up by the superior Camembert and spinach filo rolls from Lane Cove. This week I see though no reprieve for Shore as even though importing the stunning butter chicken pies will be a hit, the chardonnay sipping, latte drinking, french cheese eating Scots boys will be far to strong. Scots by at least 30.

Newington will be salivating for another meal of 100% country beast but the Joeys lads will though be providing a much tougher test. Think a poor cut of meat, tougher and rougher. The Kings pack were softer to the New palate but Joeys will provide a much tougher mouthful as the boys from Hunters Hill have enjoyed a stellar camp in Coffs Harbour. Expect some back line reshuffles and a return of the Friday night horse-balls on the dining room menu. Joeys by 5

The battle of lace napkins and the RW Williams jeans will once put two of the best after game feeds against one another. View will be feeling confident in their superior takeaway chicken and designer salads, but Kings have been buoyed with the recent rains and the fattened lambs which will make a stunning addition to the beef and red wine pies. In a classic, I can see View getting the nod by half a glass of Shiraz.

You talk real purdy Joker awhaw awhaw... ;) ;)
And don't you know that chardonnay is so 2014 with all the great Clare valley rieslings coming through.

My tips are Scots by a lot, Joeys by not as much and Kings by the least

Two U16 teams at New but only one facing Joeys.
For a proud GPS rugby school, New are matching up against Joeys in 12 fixtures. 29 Joeys teams are facing a mixture of other opponents.
I suppose if they get up in the 1's it would have been a successful day.

We are still looking for second writers for Joeys, Newington and Kings' games.

If you think you can do just a couple of reports of home games in the next eight rounds, and perhaps the odd away game, it will be appreciated.

Please send me a convo.

Thanks.
