What a great first round. With three dominant teams (so far) and half way through the GPS selection is anyone willing to take a stab at the GPS 1st/2nd/3rd XV?

My favourites for possible selections based on yesterdays performances are as follows:

Possibles:
View- Hutcho, Freeman, Bowditch, Hosea, McGregor, Pritchard.
Joeys- Horton, 13, 8, 15.
Kings- Kane, Burke.
Shore- Woodhill, Emery.
Scots- Crichton, Porter, Rudolf, Smith, McCauley, Sedgeman, Terbutt, Hendrie.
New- Kennewell, Sepesa.

I'd put most of these players in either the firsts or seconds GPS sides, I think Jack Hayson #8 and Beau Peterson #5 from view may be included these two have been in terrific form as of late and yesterday they were unstoppable making line breaks, tackles, turnovers and try saving tackles. Also Will McDonnell from joeys #12 is a class player, solid in defence and runs very good lines in attack. From Kings George Lehman #6, very strong and able to change a game with his defence and workrate. I think this years GPS sides will be very strong in both 1sts and 2nds, and a lot of the NSW sides players will come from the GPS comp, look forward to seeing the GPS teams in a few weeks

can someone give the seconds scores from yesterday ?
shore v new
scots v joeys
view v kings

Joeys 26, Scots 7.

Well contested start to the game, Joey's capitalised on Scots' errors, and used their quick reloads to their advantage. Will be a great game round 2

how did Crichton perform? and who is now playing #8?

He's a class payer as we all know he did very well, the Joeys 13 was also very capable and marked him well.........hard to imagine him not running from the back of the scrum, the number 8 for TSC yesterday was Charlie Smith he also played very well with strong runs....... will be interesting to see how the GPS selectors look at this especially with so little time to see how they are going in new positions.......

I think it will be interesting in that both Hutchison and Crichton will be fighting for the #13 spot, yet both players are almost guaranteed a spot in the team... Will also be interesting to see how these two match up when Riverview vs Scots, will make for some very entertaining rugby

Will be a great match up.......... two things I would not want to do, 1) Tackle Crichton, 2) Chase Hutchison..............

Yes he did, Rudolf played Prop, Porter was at 15 and Oliver Poiner played most of the game over Callum Styles last years 1st 15 number 10....

No, sorry, incorrect. Jack Maddocks played most of the game at 10 for the 1sts after Callum Styles dislocated his shoulder. Oliver Pointer was concussed earlier in the 2nds game.

Apologies I was going off the numbers on the program, saw Styles have that shoulder popped back in on the side line tent .....

Styles is a loss for Scots, hopefully not out too long. How did Maddocks go replacing him? Sounds like they can still challenge with Styles out from yesterday's score

3rd XV - Joeys 22 - scots 5
A very physical contest early with joeys getting an early intercept try through #13 Ronald Streeter-mason I believe. No doubt scots have excellent structure and this showed as they spent 10-15 minutes continously bashing joeys line however the joeys defence was ruthless.
#8 tom leaver was a standout for me as he made metres every time he touched the ball.
Joeys discipline was shocking in the last 20 minutes with 2 yellow cards and a send off which lead to scots getting a try against the joeys 12 man side. However, joeys would be very pleased to finish off with a try 3 men down.

Joeys look to be very dangerous in the 3rd XV competition and it will be interesting to see how they go against the likes of grammar, high and Armadale 1st XVs

Crichton is playing at 13 only because of a mouth injury to somebody else. That person returned after an operation for the TSS trial match but had to retire after ten minutes.

It is expected that he will be available for Round 2 but the way Crichton played at 13, and Charlie Smith at 8, Scots make take pause before bringing him back into the team.

Unusual for Joeys side to be undisciplined.
