What is all this nonsense about.
Most of the names being thrown around by the immature schoolboys on the forum won't, and shouldn't, make the GPS 1sts. I think Kellaway should get the gong at fullback, pretty much a foregone conclusion, but I don't think he should get it for fly-half, it is pretty much irrelevant though, fullback it is for him.
As I recall Milne might have been playing Outside Centre against Riverview, or maybe it was Inside? I think that he played very well there, and I would definitely have Tepai and Tanne as the two centres, maybe with Sam Mete on Left Wing at 11, he has played quite well, pretty big, very fast, perhaps fastest rugby player in the GPS? Anyway fly-half will be tough, McGregor is good but certainly not up to the level of GPS 1's yet. Deegan is fairly experienced but by all accounts not at his best at the moment, Tulloch and Clancy are both great players, in my books it's a battle between those two, I would give it to Tulloch.
Forwards will be tough, I am not sure about Hooker, Hosea is an amazing player but GPS 1's in year 11 might be a big ask especially in the front row, there are lots of great front rowers out there, will be interesting to see who they go for.
I think Ben Hunt deserves the gong at Number 8 personally considering his awesome display against Newington, but it's a competitive position, could go to anyone really.
Someone asked me earlier why I put Shore last and not Kings. Valid question, it's because I think Kings' loss, will very large, was mainly due to lack of preparation rather than them being a bad team. They will improve with more game time under their belt, I am quite sure of that, and become a fairly formidable force in this competition by its end, whereas I don't think, by all accounts, Shore are going to be great. They have a great team on paper, and next year they will be a gun side, but I just don't think this is going to be their year. Expect big things next year though
Anyway aside from the nonsense banter on this page, it's been pretty good.
On a side note what do people think is going to go down in the 3rd XV competition. I think Grammar will be a fairly formidable force, as will Armidale against other school's 3rds. Armidale 1sts did beat Riverview 2nds last year so they should go in favourites for that one.
It's an important competition in my opinion, not enough talk being directed towards it.
