A sobering fact...

Sydney Grammar School still has the most International Captains, Wallaby Captains and strongest all-time First XV out of all Australian schools. Not Joeys.

SGS way more greats than SJC, true rugby historians know...

Sydney Grammar All-time 1st XV:
-9 SGS International Captains (7 Wallaby Captains, 1 England, 1 Scotland) vs 3 Joeys International Captains (3 Wallaby Captains)
-100m sprint Olympian Wallaby (!) on Wing (Slip Carr)
-rest all Wallabies (31 total)
-Has Col Windon, Alex Ross, Johnnie Wallace, Alfred Walker and so much more

There is a wikipedia page with all old Grammar boys who have played high level sports or made other notable achievements. not sure if this exists for other gps schools. The list includes international rugby players and mentions the wallaby captains from the school. Please refer here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Old_Sydneians

Most of the major (and many of the minor) schools have something similar on Wikipedia, like the GNG forum some school boys like to add some less salubrious names at times so the list are a bit rubbery.

Sydney Grammar has a wealth of young talent coming through. The Grammar 16As are better than the twos and pretty much on par with the ones. From what I heard, the 16As beat the twos 61-17 in training and lost to the ones 32-30. This just shows the quality of the young ones. Also a little fact for you, this current 16As team is the only team in GPS history to go 3 years undefeated. Watch out in 2027 comp

The current mighty Grammar 15A rugby team still undefeated in GPS comps since year 7. Knocked over Aloysius 15A team and Joeys 15B/C combined team so far this season in trials. The only Grammar team to win against Joeys. For some unknown reason Riverview have served up their 15D team this weekend. Will be a cricket score. Fullback Bastian Tsiamis (2nd in GPS 100m athletics and already first basket ball in year 9) will have a field day. Onwards and upwards for the students!

Interested to see this 'strongest all-time 1st XV out of all Australian schools', not least because according the the Wiki page of notable Old Sydneians, Grammar 1st XV has produced exactly ONE Wallaby (Jack Maddocks, 2017) in the last 67 years.

Before Maddocks you need to go back to David Emmanuel in 1958. Grammar claims Julian Huxley (2007) on the back of Huxley attending their St Ives prep school, but he went to high school at TKS.

In the vast majority of cases Grammar's Wallabies were capped nearly 100 years (or more) ago, so it takes quite the imagination to claim they have the strongest all-time 1st XV.
