does anyone have any information on the infamous harry beckett from joeys? heard he is a real hotshot for 1st XV GPS halfback over grover. thoughts?

My thoughts.... you have just over a week to go until holidays and I'm sure your parents (and everyone else on here) would appreciate if you knuckled down until school is finished, and spare us the silly speculating comments!

Absolute schoolboy tomfoolery. Beyond the obvious and preposterous glazing of Harry Beckett—about which I’ve already penned a detailed article outlining why Xavier Ryan is the undeniable frontrunner—this ridiculous mucking about reaches new heights with your laughable claim. Suggesting that the greatest and most "sigma" player ever to grace Riverview's hallowed swamp since Jack Dempsey wears cerise and blue? Utter nonsense. Honestly, mate, give your head a wobble and sort it out.

What’s next in your little circus of hot takes? Calling "The Rizzler" the 2025 season’s Five-Eight for Joeys while Big Justice valiantly leads out Newington, stacking dubs like he’s farming XP in Bronze lobbies? The brain rot comments is astronomical. Let’s aim for fewer NPC-tier claims and more critical thought next time, yeah?

All fun and games, enjoy the rest of term.

Glazer here again,

just inquiring from the previous conversation (not entirely sure if it’s satire or not) who will be the predicted st Joseph’s and also Scots halfback? Haven’t been let into the light yet as I haven’t seen many team lists but I hope to see boy Beckett have a crack and some “new” Scot’s kids who have potential.

I hope viewboyclan and boshman can be informative for once instead of this “big justice and Aj” stuff and also BSB, not sure what it means.

Cheers,
Glazer out

Glazer, legend, your intel is as sharp as a plastic butter knife—Scots' halfback might just be another 'new kid.' Beckett for Joey's? Elite vibes. BSB? Big Silly Banter. Justice for all."

Glazer here again,

Haha, VBC, you’ve got more puns than a dad joke convention! But hey, if Glazer’s intel is sharp as a plastic butter knife, then at least it’s still cutting through the nonsense, right? As for the "new kid"—let's just say the Scots’ halfback might be making waves, but Beckett’s the one who’ll be turning heads at Joey's with those elite vibes. BSB? Big Silly Banter? Nah, it’s Big Shot Bourkey on the field. Justice? Always served, but sometimes it’s got a bit of taumoepeau. Catch you on the flip side, mate.

Cheers,
Glazer

Glazer,

Your butter knife might be blunt, but it’s still spreading the banter thick! Beckett turning heads? Sure, but let’s hope it’s not from Grova running rings around him. As for BSB, Big Silly Banter fits— though Beckett’s Supreme Brilliance might be the one. Justice with taumoepeau? Sounds like a side dish. Catch you soon, legend—don’t forget your cutlery!"

Forget your rep season.
Its all but picked now. All Tahs kids with contracts will take there place in NSW u18 squad. Even if a bolter shows some form they will be warming bench for the Tahs. Politics run strong.

Too true @PASS MASTER!

Guess it’s not rugby anymore, it’s politics with a ball! Tahs kids must have signed contracts and birthrights. Bolters better bring chairs—those benches aren’t warming themselves!

Glazer here (hopefully for the last time),

Ah, VBC, looks like the real game here is 'Who Can Whine the Loudest!' If the Tahs are playing politics, maybe it’s time for some real strategy—less crying, more trying! But hey, at least those benches have comfy spots for when the drama unfolds #psmith13B’s!

Kindest Regards, Glazer

Glazer, your commentary might have the bite of a sideline critic, but let’s talk about real talent—Harry Beckett. While others talk politics, Beckett lets his performance do the talking. His ability to consistently deliver under pressure and lead by example on the field is what sets him apart.

If there's anyone who's showing 'real strategy,' it's Beckett. His vision, precision, and sheer work rate are the reason the team is still in the fight. Whining isn’t the game here, but recognizing brilliance when it’s on display sure should be. Maybe grab a notepad during the next match—you might learn something from the #BeckettShow.

Cheers,
VBC

Plus a really nice young man. We spoke last season. He came right up to me and introduced himself. when I was in the stands at Joeys. A well spoken gentleman he was and I wished him every success.

Honestly, I couldn't agree more. This exceptional young lad, with his strong character, impeccable manners, and approachable personality, is destined for greatness both on and off the field. He frequently hangs around with my son and his friends, and every time I see him, he represents himself, his family, and Riverview with the utmost respect.

I would like to reiterate what the @Joker mentioned, that I wish him every success. With his remarkable talent and well-spoken demeanour, he truly embodies a recipe for success. Good luck, Angus Grover! May your journey be filled with serendipitous moments and boundless opportunities!

does anyone have any info on the heameasi makasini situation? i have heard rumours that he will not be playing for newington.
The Glazer here,

Yeah, I’ve heard the Tigers aren’t letting him play because there’s a clause in his $3 million contract that’s stopping him. I think the clause is that

1. He can't attend or play any games as a player
2. He can't train outside of the club without permission

And I think he's banned from the showers for some reason...

But that's crazy, right? He would tear through the GPS this year if it weren't for old Benji.

He's a dynamic and versatile back; he’s got that rare combination of blistering pace, razor-sharp footwork, and a bulldozer’s mentality when it comes to breaking tackles. His rugby IQ is off the charts—always in the right place at the right time, whether it's scoring try on the wing or shutting down the opposition's attack. Makasini is the type of player who can single-handedly change the course of a game. An electrifying talent, he’s the kind of player you build a team around. Simply put, he’s a game-changer and would rock the competition this year.

Kindest regards,
The Glazer

Dear Glazer,

Sounds like Makasini signed the 'No Fun Allowed' contract! Can’t play, can’t train, can’t even enjoy the showers—what's next, a no-smiling clause? With that skill set, he'd be running circles around GPS, but it seems he's only allowed to run his dishwasher. Classic Tigers move.

Cheers,
VBC
