Always a lottery at the 13s.... who has the most early growers....Trinity, not exactly CAS rugby stalwarts, only lost 28-14 in the first CAS round.
But the multiple 50+ scores in the junior grades has to be somewhat concerning for even competition go long forward
hmmmmmAlways a lottery at the 13s.... who has the most early growers....
There's 5 quite strong teams in the 13s from my observations
Waverly, TKS, Trinity, Joeys & Auggies
As a measure the current 2025 graduating class of TKS lost all games when they were 13s, however, that being said the 1stXV only has 2 or 3 who played 13as in 2020.
I would not be concerned. The current Shore 1st XV involves around 7 players who played in the 13As in 2020.Trinity, not exactly CAS rugby stalwarts, only lost 28-14 in the first CAS round.

Just like Newington, Kings must have had some late "growers"hmmmmm
Success builds engagement at the lower levels though, no doubt many boys are playing Rugby as the result of being inspired by a Joseph Sua'ali'i , Will Penisini or Issac Fonua.Just like Newington, Kings must have had some late "growers"
(On a serious note, I think that the "new normal" in 2025 for recruitment, where many 1st XVs become a Harlem Globe Trotter type arrangement, is completely unseemly and against what I formerly thought to be the values of the AAGPS)

What was the score?Hey, Try Line vet, I was watching from the hill on the weekend, truly is a great oval and a big thanks to TKS for hosting a great day at Parramatta.
It was great to see a few young men come up to me and have some great conversations,
Scots 3xv
I thought Scots demonstrated their talents in all areas on Saturday. Their forwards were taking good strong carries accumulating great post contact metres which allowed the scots backs to play off the back of this, Once the ball got to the backs it was pretty much game over with both the 9 and 11 having a double, as I said before this 3rds scots team is definitely a special one with talents all around the field, would not surprise me one bit if they get up for the prem this year.
Kings 3xv
A lot of things went wrong for the boys in blue and white on the weekend. The team quite simply got manhandled by a bigger, faster and better team. The king's forward pack was smaller than I've seen in recent years, and couldn't quite get things working for themselves A lot of dropped balls and errors were killing them. The #11 for kings was doing a lot of dangerous tackles, would like the coach to bring this up with him, would hate to see someone injured because of reckless or incorrect tackling technique. To summarise, the team just didn't feel connected out there, would love to see them bounce back from this loss.
