NSW AAGPS 2023

Also from experience, the King's turf is the nicest. Also is the only schoolboy ground (other than Barker which isn't remotely comparable) that has a proper 360 viewing. The hill is great to watch from too.

Personally I think the White Oval is the best schoolboy ground in NSW. Followed by Joeys. Also enjoyed Shore's grounds although atmosphere etc. isn't comparable (although Joker does highly recommend the pies).
Kings has a cricket pitch in the middle of the field.... and it is good for spectators in the same way that I sometimes like to watch my TV from across the street. Even from the grandstand, it is pretty average viewing.

Joeys might be the worst viewing 1stXV oval in the GPS IMO though. Redeemed by the quality of its turf and atmosphere.

At the end of the day it's just preference. It's genuinely not a hill worth dying on.

I think Justice from Joeys has had a really good season so far and he should only get better as he gets older and gets into year 11 and 12, same with Onitoni Large from Scots, he shows promising talent and I believe that the both of them could become some of the best in the GPS. Also Jaques, Brial and some other Scots boys are playing really well. Im not sure about the top 10 coming into next season but I do know that we'll see some really good talent next year.
Justice is an amazing talent, I'm told hes also young for year 10? which makes it also more incredible.

It might be a bit early Collector but do you want to have a crack at naming a 2024 Shore 1st XV?
Will have a crack, obviously a lot changes between now and next season but I’ve been following the 16As closely and can give a decent shout.

1. Ed Cowdery/Charlie Armati (16As)
2. James Warner (1sts)
3. Felix Harvison (3rds)
4. Ed Baxter (1sts)
5. Charlie Galligan (16As)
6. Angus Reardon (2nds)
7. Marshall Le Maitre (1sts)
8. Ethan Hamilton (2nds)
9. Jack Binnie (2nds)
10. Alex Segeart (2nds)
11. Preston Scott (2nds)
12. Henry Conick (1sts)
13. Charlie Francis (16As)
14. Ollie Mackellar (1sts)
15. Lewis Kingdom (2nds)

Had to consult many team lists to pull out all of these names but this is my best shot at a full XV, obviously other boys who could make it and some players moving positions (14 and 13 swapping possibly). Happy to discuss the team with anyone and most likely have forgotten some deserving boys.
Edit: Did not realise 2nds number 8 was in year 11, he will most definitely be in the 1st XV come next year.
Collector.

Wednesday Tipping!

View v Kings have been splitting the tipsters. Will the Parramattta Cows be able to run as freely as they are used to on the swamp lands of the wolves lair? Some are tipping the wild ones will be victorious and spoil the perfect record. No team has done 10 from 10 in the competition. Others though are pointing to the star studded bovine who have the ability to turn the game (and its herd) on its hoof.

What's your tip?

Others seem to have Joeys favorites as the full compliment of cattle dogs are back on deck with the heavy artillery now in place. Scots still has friends but Shore has it fans who sense the Death Star is crumbling and they are ripe for the picking after the thermal exhaust port was discovered. Battle at Stirling bridge will be entertaining.

Kings + 6
Joeys +8
Scots +7

Have you been to Joeys? There isn't a bad spot to watch, if you don't like watching rugby at Joeys then you probably don't like rugby. I have heard the complaints about the seats being too hard and the sun being too bright and the wind too strong but seriously..... the games are played outdoors. Although I am always there in time to secure a seat in the stand I often watch from the other side and enjoy the packed in atmosphere and closeness to the players just as much. Nothing like being able to feel the impact of the scrum engage or the crunching tackle over the sideline. There's nothing so funny as hearing the quick-witted half tease the dull tight-head or the open-side tell the 10 what he'll do next. That's schoolboy footy, not some picnic on a hill from the boot of some double barrels Rolls Royce. No offence to tight-heads.
