I know Kings have 'compulsory' attendance days where boys must attend and they have limited to 3 weekends out of the 5 home games but it never seems to be a full crowd. It must be disappointing for the players on a home ground to see the opposition have more supporters. No doubt the school is being bombarded with 'excuses' why boys cant attend this weekend for the first compulsory game this weekend against Scots.
Dustyy

This Saturday is compulsory attendance for Years 7 to 12 against Scots.

Joeys 2019? Definitely not. Wasn't even the best team that year. There are MUCH stronger Joeys teams.

Kings 2020 was ridiculously strong. I believe every single back +1 in that team now has at least a professional development contract. Wilson (Tahs), Poolman (Force), Little (Force), Penisini (Eels), Sua'ali'i (Wallabies), Blackmore (Brumbies) plus I believe Hemsworth now has a Tahs development contract too?
Joeys '19 won.... whether they were all time, IDK but they won so they were the best that year.

I agree, I believe the 2020 Kings is the best GPS team assembled.

My Top 5 AAGPS Premiers teams in the past decade - mostly based on the teams I enjoyed watching:

1. 2014 Scots, as previously mentioned undefeated over 10 games, line break city, remember watching them tear apart Riverview (to my demise), a lot league boys in the team meant for some crazy offloads.
Notable Players: Angus Crichton (Roosters/Kangaroo), Guy Porter (Leicester Tigers/ 4 England Caps), Toby Rudolph (Sharks)

2. 2020 Kings, Dominant, Strong, Quick, boy where they good.
Notable Players: Will Penisini (Eels/Tonga International), Teddy Wilson (Waratahs/U20 Wallabies), Sua'ali'i’i (Roosters/Waratahs/Samoa International)

3. 2018 Joeys, A very underrated team in this list, whilst they may not have the notable players, they clicked like no team I have seen do before. There precision in every game was second to none, there ability to stay in a game, claw there way back (against Riverview and Scots), astonishing. Such an aggressive but poised team. They have set a Joeys mentality precedent for years to come.

4. 2022 Joeys, This team will be talked about for years to come, and will only age better and better, very similar to 2018 Joeys, they clicked, and with arguably the best schoolboy player in the last 10 years at their helm in Max Jorgensen, they were unplayable (or may just be some recency bias) . Max (Waratahs/Wallabies), Hiwi Sharples, Jack Barrett (U20 Wallabies), Ronan Leahy (U20 Wallabies), Joey Fowler (U20 Wallabies) - an all-star lineup, who all have potential to be special future Super Rugby players and even Wallabies.

5. 2015 NC, Remember watching this team and thinking, gee that Cameron Murray is good, whilst he did carry the team slightly, very fast and hard carrying, took them to the title.
Notable Players: Cam Murray (Rabbitohs/Australia), Bailey Simonsson (Eels), Bailey Kuenzle (Stud at the Brumbies - Currently Force)

*Honourable Mention

2021 Riverview - A deadly 9/10/12 combo. Dan Nelson (U20 Wallabies/G1 Syd Uni), Jack Bowen (U20 Wallabies/Waratahs/G1 Easts), Henry O'Donnell (U20 Wallabies/G1 Norths) - All of which are in Waratahs Academy.

Any discourse will be great, tell me what you would change.

I don't know how you can leave out Liam Grover, out of either team, the bare minimum would be putting him on the wing in 2nds. He's been unplayable recently and apart of the reason why View has had this run of form.

Scots was a class side, boasting high quality players like Australian Schools player Angus Critchton (#13), exciting Guy Porter (#15), young gun Charlie Smith (#8), dynamic Theo Strang (#9), and versatile Toby Rudolf, who played in the front row, second row and backrow (#1, #4 and #6).

In addition to having superb individual talent, the coaching of Marcus Blackburn deserved particular commendation. His charges played an amazing style of running rugby and always in the right spirit. It was a great season to watch and they never took a penalty shot at goal during the season.

Despite carping comments from the media about the provenance of their team, Scots were deserved champions for this season and could definitely be the best GPS team in recent history.

Best players – 3. Angus Crichton (#13), 2. Guy Porter (#15), 1. Theo Strang (#9).

Got to agree with you here BAT. Would of been interesting to see how high the Riverview 2021 side could have reached if it wasn't for COVID.

On a completely seperate note in relation to last weekends Kings v View game- i has very impressed as an old boy to see there were more View boys at the game in support. Even for a home game with about half the school boarding the turn out for Kings must be pretty disappointing for their players to see the lack of spirit.
No compulsory attendance either for Riverview proving that the boys simply want to support their school. I would go out to say that Riverview alongside Joey's has the best sporting culture in Sydney, maybe better considering attendance isn't compulsory and the crowd size isn't too dissimilar.

Quite possibly Joker
But the stats for the 2014 side weren't far off.
Over 400 points with about 70 against from memory.
A lot of very good players across the park as well as a few standouts.
Certainly the most dominant side of the last decade.
Won 10 GPS games and atleast 4 trial games.
Cranbrook were unbeaten early that year with 5 from 5 and got smashed by 50 points mid season in the Battle of the Hill.

I have to agree, even after the Headmaster switch to Paul Hine from Shane Hogan their ability to get a consistent 300-350 (home and way) boys, who want to be their, to support their mates and school is seriously impressive. Even through thick or thin and win or loss - which is where other schools fall short in their sporting culture.
