An observation on the 16As - 3 out of 6 teams are on 4 wins / 4 losses. Joeys (has had a shocker of a year for reasons that have been well documented) beat the best-placed school (View) to end their undefeated run and in doing so actually ran up 25% of Views 'points against' tally. More than one fellow contributor has commented in the past that the 16s age group tells you nothing about the likely success of Opens teams in the next few years. I suspect that is even more the case this year. A terribly even comp where anyone could literally win on the day.
Mind blowing to think that Joeys 13A’s, 14A’s, 15A’s combined have only lost one game

Last year the Joeys 13A’s, 14A’s, 15A’s combined we’re undefeated

Considering the 2023 16A‘s is the strongest age group at full strength, with so many players playing opens (or injured). They would have been dominant as last years undefeated 15A‘s averaging 42-7 in GPS

Joeys could be entering another dominant era …

Real positive to see variation through the age groups in terms of general success.

Same could happen in the opens. Will be get 3 complete different premiers?

Newington 14Bs win a close game against Scots 14Cs.
A bit poor from Newo 14s, they are a good side and have the same amount of teams as Scots 14s, but they decide to play the lower grades of Scots to end the season.

Joeys 14As looking like an incredible side for the years to come, multiple players making gen blue and Sydney City team.
Very good side. View getting close in the As and led the game last week. Don’t think the View 14Bs have lost a GPS game in 2 years and the Cs have split it. Good battle in that age group.

Enjoying some lovely Kings company with @Rudderless nervously pacing in the stands.

The Pie Report

Luke warm, hard pastry and flavorless. Such a disappointment after three buses and one train. Should have tried the BBQ. Sorry Kings but you can do much better.

Result of the day.
Joeys 14th XV 39

Mind blowing to think Joeys are always strong in the younger age groups......
