Stupid comment mate (or boy) . You don’t single out players for criticism In schoolboy footy. Pretty poor form
Sorry mate (or boy) haha, meant no harm. Im still new to the forum and was just giving my opinion which seems to be unpopular on here to hopefully get a reply as to why he deserves that spot and how he has performed prior to this game.

Kind Regards,

I am a supporter of View as I am an old boy. However, as previously mentioned, I think View is working towards next year. I think they have played very well as a team, very fit and they have exceeded expectations so far.
If they beat Scots this week, and I hope they do although it will be a huge task away and Scots have some big players returning, then they may make a late push for a shared premiership if Kings stumble. I just don't see Kings losing 2 games.

Kings have essentially guaranteed a premiership. They will be able to beat New Joeys and Shore comfortably, Scots away might be a bit closer and against riverview at riverview will be a very close match.

Wonder where most of the current year 12s will play footy after school...

Heres my guess, no clue if im right or not

Kings: Eastwood, Syd Uni
Scots: Easts, Randwick
Riverview: Gordon, Norths, Uni
Shore: Norths
Joeys: Gordon, Uni
Newington, Randwick, Uni

???

More Joe Boys at Randwick and Uni.

If you want good Colts footy right now it’s Warringah, Eastwood, Gordon, Uni the most consistent. Norths are an absolute shit show at that level.

With 4 rounds left and kings ahead by quite a bit, what has to happen in order for other teams to win it all? I know it's possible but I dont think this kings team will let off this term. Scots have some players returning from injury which will be a boost for these final games but will still need to perform exceptionally in order to take the top spot from Kings. For anyone wondering, this is how the table is currently stacked up.
Completely agree props Kings have done great so far this season and I just cant see them losing momentum after having such a great run. With the return of blake steep, tom duddy and finlay bartlett I think they should win this week against view and could make a close game against kings.

16s is a funny comp now. Hard to read too much into it because schools all have their own program plans and will play guys up in 2nds who may not necessarily be completely up to it but worth the experience while others will keep them down with a team and bring a cohort through together.

I personally think leaving them is better for their own skill development unless they are a complete outlier.

I agree with you that View have played very well this year but I disagree that they've exceeded expectations. Alot of people forget that when this year 12 group were in the U16s they were undefeated against all GPS schools except for Newington who they didn't play because of Covid. Yes schools had boys go up to opens but so did view. They may have flown under the radar for some, no doubt helped by GPS U16s selectors that year who only picked one of their non-opens players..,and he was a reserve. View must have had 17-18 of their current Yr 12s play 1sts and 2nds last year. That experience has certainly added to their performances this year. Plenty has been said about injuries across all teams and View have had their fair share with 5 boys across 1s and 2s ruled out for the season. With circa 21-22 of current 1s and 2s being year 12 not sure where the “working towards next year” comment come from.

As I said earlier today I think View still have a great shot. View, New, Shore and Joeys almost beat Kings. Not saying Kings will lose any of their remaining games but they have had less injuries in the first half with only a small number and it hasn’t effected their key players. A friend from work told me Kings 12 limped off with what looked like a hamstring and their 15 also came off clutching his shoulder. He thought that the Kings forwards weren’t as impressive as people have made out and reckoned Barker matched their scrum and thought the line out was weak. Any way 4 weeks to go! GO VIEW

How are the GPS Boys of 2022 faring at Colts level???
At what level of the Colts program are they playing???
It must be a transformation from schoolboy rugby.

Plenty doing good things in 1sts Colts. We’ll get a good look over the next couple weeks as some like Barrett and Leahy get back from the U20s WC.

Cailol from View with Fowler in Unis 1sts and plenty more around.

I think a lot handle the jump fine. The speed of the game isn’t different it can just be the size of the player is bigger just through growth of young men. Their first tests come in 1st and 2nd grade when the collisions are suddenly with fully grown men.

Yes totally agree. I’m sure there would a big difference at Colts for 18YO coming up against boys 2 years older let alone playing Shute Shield Grade against men.

Defiantly a few in the 16s age group, Onitoni Large (SCOTS 12), Justice Taumaupeou (JOEYS 8), both playing in the firsts for their respective schools.

Everyone has beaten them. They may have been strengthened with the return of players
Great bunch of young men.
Up until this year they had never lost a game and only conceded a handful of tries. They get a few back but have lost a few more to injury. Net net, still down about 8 starting players from last year. At least at Joeys they will play Shore on a proper field rather than one of those U10’s back fields. Looking forward to it.
